I was there on a business trip and the hotel had all necessary amenities. The staff is AMAZING! They make you feel beyond at home and pampered. The breakfast buffet is the best I have ever had in any international (even less so in the US) trip. Clean, safe, great food and fresh ingredients and varied room service menu.
Would recommend to anyone visiting Lusaka.

Room Tip: Make sure you watch for the stairs inside the room and ensure the balcony does not lock you out.

This hotel aims at being in the top class. Indeed, they do a lot for it, but there are hiccups:
- The most annoying is that in a hotel where the room rate is above USD 200, you have to pay separately for the WiFi connection.
- The quality of the WiFi is bad.
- The internal information flow is not very good among the staff (we were left on the airport in spite of having a booking, laundry was not ready for the requested time, payment details were arranged with one staff member and the other did not know about it, etc.)

The staff is polite, professional, the environment is nice (although very 'artificial'), the rooms are good.

Room Tip: The ones facing to the garden/swimming pool are nice

My husband and I live in Johannesburg and stayed here for one night, as we had to travel to South Luangwa the next day and we had an early flight, directly from Lusaka.

The hotel itself is in a lovely quiet area, with lots of trees and the room was very clean and comfortable.

We had drinks in the bar and found the service to be quite poor - the waitress didn't really understand what we wanted and took forever to come back and tell us the wine we ordered was out of stock.

However, we found the service at Steaks n Grills, the in-house restaurant to be excellent and the food was superb.

Overall, we had a lovely stay and the hotel is very central, but also nice and quiet.

Fantastic service in this hotel. They really make you feel comfortable and staff goes out of their way to accommodate you.
The rooms are good but I think that needs a refurbishment to be proper 5 stars. This is the only reason I give the hotel only 4. Also 5 stars grading is misleading, although if you have travelled enough in Africa you know that grading means nothing here.
The bathroom was very small and the ceiling very low, so not sure how tall people do it, particularly in the shower.
The breakfast is very tasty and the SPA also good.
I know there are other lodges in Lusaka which are supposed to be good quality but I needed to be close to my meetings...
Another down point is that internet is very expensive and not very good quality. This is why I will not choose it for my next trip

The Taj is a great hotel for business travelers. The room was clean and modern, with a great view of the landscape/city. Also, the staff were eager to please and helpful, room service was prompt and well done, and the breakfast buffet abundant.

We stayed only two nights in the hotel. Rooms were great with a fantastic view over Lusaka and the fireworks on the evening of Guy Fawkes Night from the 7th floor. Especially the service in the restaurant was good. We had a very good breakfast and a near perfect dinner. When the espresso was not of the quality we expected the waitress went out of her way to get us a good espresso from another machine in the hotel. Especially the persistency with which she handled that minor issue was something of a service level, that you would not expect in Lusaka. Great experience.

Room Tip: Higher up is better view and less street noise.
