Road Trip Tanzania sorted us out with a great car and a fantastic driver for a really good price. We traveled for 10 days to three national parks and the Usambara mountains. The Landcruiser was 100 percent necessary and 100 percent reliable for the journey. Our driver, Laizer was super calm and great company, and was always happy to go the extra mile to find hidden treasures.
We can higly recommend Roadtrip Africa. The website is highly informative, their service helpful, reliable and fast. We were on a self drive trip for 20 days and had booked the budget car option Toyota RAV4 - for 2 people enough and even on difficult dirt roads completely reliable, so one has to be aware that the cars have seen better days. The traffic and the roads can be challenging, but you get used to it surprisingly quickly and maps.me reliably helps you find your way. All in all, Uganda is a wonderful country with a very rich biodiversity and warm-hearted people.
We can only recommend Roadtrip Africa. From the quote to the payment, everything worked out great. On the way we had a defective fan belt. It was replaced within a very short time and we were able to continue our journey. The reserved accommodation as well as the permits all worked out very well.
We booked a classic Landcruiser and a guide through Roadtrip Africa (Roadtrip Uganda) for a two week loop around Uganda. Our guide Kato was a truly wonderful person to travel the country with. He was energetic, friendly, knowledgeable, and his love for the country, its landscapes, and people came through in all of his stories. Although the roads throughout much of the country are not paved, I would think self-drive would have been fine too. We found a guide helpful and it took the burden of planning off of us.
We are not campers, the mid-range lodges we stayed in (mostly those recommended by Roadtrip) were wonderful. Okke from Roadtrip helped us create a trip within our budget, the whole trip was much less expensive than the packages we received from other companies.
Uganda exceeded our expectations on every front. The landscapes are breathtaking, the people are genuinely warm and friendly, the food was great, and we saw just about every animal we wished to see on safari. I would definitely recommend Uganda as a destination for those looking to safari in East Africa without as many of the crowds.
Great experience, the Land Cruiser provided was reliable and in excellent condition allowing a safe and hassle free travel.
We rented a Landcruiser 4x4 with Roof Tent and camping gear for a 10 days self driving safari from Roadtrip Africa. The communication from Germany by E-Mail was excellent. We received the offer immediately according to all our wishes. In addition we received many helpful information to plan a self driving trip in Tanzania. The car we got later in Arusha met our expectations. A robust Toyota Landcruiser with a top roof tent (almost new) and camping equipment that looked a little bit outdated but was okay for the 10 days camping safari. We had a direct contact person in Arusha for any questions we had and help we needed. We had two breakdowns with the car which can happen in such environment. Our contact in Arusha was always reachable and responsive. Such problems were solved within 1,5 hours each. Perfect! Responsiveness, sense of urgency and friendliness were perfect. We would always rent a car again from Roadtrip Africa. I recommend to everybody who is interested to rent a Toyota Landcruiser, the most reliable car and well known in that part of Africa. If there is any trouble with the car, there can be find mechanics used to repair such a car in every part of Tanzania.
