Enjoyed a dinner with various game meats at The Lawns with friends.
Quite a nice relaxed setting, tables up a bit high looking across the lawn and gardens, and down at one end the open-air BBQ kitchen where you could see the chefs at work.
I liked the art work displayed on the walls - in hindsight probably should have bought one piece at least, that sticks in my memory...
There were 3 separate blackouts during our meal, which added a little bit of ... excitement or atmosphere. Candles on the table helped after the first one.
I had a sampling plate of various game meats, some of which I had not tried before. Mostly enjoyed that for the experience of trying some new things rather than specifically for the taste or quality of cooking, but it felt like a more genuinely African experience than, say, the beautiful but in some sense out-of-place Italian meals we have had at Serena Kampala Hotel.
Security seemed good here and it was a short taxi ride from the decent hotels in Kololo.
