I would tell EVERYONE to stay at The Lodge Kampala, It is beautiful.
The room was massive with a gorgeous bathroom and a lovely balcony overlooking a pretty garden.
The staff were lovely always wanting to help and offer great advice.
The food was very special, my friends fell in love with the eggs annaise and still misses it!!!
We stayed in Feb 2012 and it was very good, No worries regarding the safety of this place!
Will certainly return again.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great!

we stayed there a year ago, and i still don't have enough good things to say about this - especially their hospitality (and, I'm sure, patience) for people arriving in a foreign country. The staff were so wonderful and helpful, the meals were delicious, the rooms were clean and well sized. It may look like a far way out of the city, but really it's only a few minutes (10 minutes?)) bus trip to town (a fun adventure in itself - if you dont ride on a local bus in Africa, you're missing out). No pool when we stayed there, but when we stayed, there were plans to put one in.
Above and beyond every other accommodation that we saw in the same price range (and some above). So good that, a year later, we're reviewing it.

Room Tip: Not sure how to answer this - I want to say "The room that Abi and Nick stayed in", but ni...

I am from ireland so at first i was scared to stay here as there are not many comments on trip advisor about the place. Please if you are traveling to uganda do not miss the oppertunity to stay here!!The staff are so friendly. I stayed here for a month during 2010. I met Alex and Robert who took great care of my partner and I. The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. They treated us like family. The rooms are very clean and their is always someone around to chat to or even to go the shop for you if you need anything. The owner robert even bought me a birthday cake to celebrate my birthday. The chef cooks yummy food. Their is no menu but he can cook whatever you ask him for. Their is only one negative thing to say here and that's the food is over priced and much cheaper in other places. There is a garage 2 minutes walk at the end of the road that has a cafe that sells good food and also a hotel called Serna hotel just a taxi ride away that makes amazing food at very low prices. The Serna hotel also has a breathtaking swimming pool that you can pay to use. I enjoyed my stay at the lodge so much that I returned again in 2011 and I stayed again for one month. My partner and friend where with me. We where given a three bed appartment. It was decorated African and had its own kitchen and sitting room with a tv. Again the staff treated us like family. Alex really is such an incredible guy. Robert the owner is so lovely. Robert the chef is amazing, I miss you all so much. I would like if the price of food was reduced for the next time when I return. I will defiantly be back for a visit hopeful in 2013. Love Roberta and Ethan McCabe your Irish friends xxx

I have rated the hotel average because it cannot go for very good but it is actually better than average. The apartments are cute and quite comfortable. Serene and clean environment. Courteous and responsive staff but service is delayed because of lack of intercom between the rooms. The management will do well to interconnect the rooms and service points. Power supply is horrible. While it is appreciated that the public power supply during my visit was epileptic in Uganda as a whole, the hotel need to appreciate the convenience of its guests by providing adequate power back-up. You can imagine sleeping from 11pm till day break in darkness. If you are on businees trip and you need to do some things before daybreak, you will be broken. The hotel could do well to provide small feedback forms to obtain immediate opinion of the guests and take quick remedial actions. Final comment: will I go there again? I am already preparing to go again.

Room Tip: Take a double room anyday.

I loved this guest house in many ways! The chef, the staff and owners are such great hosts.
The rooms are spacious with white linen for beddings. The cleaners keep this place in a clean state all the time even when it has just rained.

The breakfast is basic but sufficient.the internet is free though some times spotty.Overall,I would recommend this place.

Room Tip: The suite is lovely!!

On heading to Uganda, I really did not know where to start from as an Indian, and just wanted a small place to spend a night and then start off the next day with a new beginning probably get a nice place, as I searched, came across Kampala Lodge, and as a matter of fact was hesitant to pay the money before I arrived, as I was so scared about Africa.

When I got there, I finally got a feeling of being at home, the staff, Alex, Robert were really good to me and I indeed did not look no more for another place to stay at while in Kampala. Surely, they helped in organising my transportation around town and advised to the cheapest way to get to Jinja to see the Madhvani Group of Companies.

I will definitely go back there!

Room Tip: You should ask for the room with a kitchenette, really great!
