We agree with other reviewers - good beach, in harbor area. Rooms basic, but fairly clean, working AC, fair price for our sea view room (23000 CFA). Food and drinks expensive, but there are neighbouring hotels to both sides, though we did not try them on our 2-day stay. Pictures on website show the truth

Room Tip: Ou room "Bravo" facing the sea (only few rooms do that)

If first impressions counted for everything we probably wouldn’t have stayed at Coca Beach. Arriving from Ghana you drive through Lome to the port and through a succession of dusty, pot holed roads and through some rubbish strewn shanty towns. The hotel is literally in the shadow of the port but the beach is kept remarkably clean in front of the hotel. I wouldn’t have been too happy about swallowing the sea water though. We arrived on a Sunday and the place was buzzing with daytime visitors, mostly French and Lebanese ex-pats soaking up the beach front atmosphere. Our room was a large double overlooking the beach (none have a balcony). The room was clean and simply decorated. It had A/C but no fridge. Unfortunatley there were two power cuts on the day we stayed which meant the A/C was off for much of the time but a sea breeze kept the climate manageable. The staff spoke little English apart from the Head Chef, Dennis, who was very helpful to 2 English folk with only schoolboy French! We ate at the hotel at night and the food was Ok if a little expensive- theres nowhere really nearby you can go without a taxi so if you stay you should bank on eating here. The restaurant was quiet at night and the hotel next door was even quieter- we walked along the beach to it and it all seemed closed at 9.30. Coco Beach is a good choice if you want to be near Lome but not stay in the City - a taxi into town cost around $5 and took about 20 minutes.

The hotel is located in between large factories, but somehow this stretch of beach and the three hotels here are quite and secluded. Coco Beach Hotel is the oldest and nicest. There is a small pool, a beach restaurant, and the hotel has bungalows or rooms. The bungalows are much better and only a little more expensive, but that's well worth it!

It was some time ago, but I dreamt about this hotel last night! I spent a very happy few days here with my husband: It is, like the name suggests, a palm fringed, sandy beach front, happy holiday sort of place- it is really good value for money, The small pool is delicious to float around in, the beach is ideal for beach combing and shell picking romantic walks, and the food is good in the smal restaurant over looking the ocean. We are planning to go back!

The Hotel Cocobeach is definitely a good place to stay while one is at Lome. I and my hubby stayed here for two days and we immensely loved our stay. We enjoyed sleeping calmly at nights in our clean, comfortable and cozy room. The serene looking private beach was a nice place to have a romantic walk in the evenings. The swimming pool was also great to relax. The staffs were friendly and helpful in every possible way. The food was excellent (especially the freshly prepared sea food) and the services great. If you are a person like me who loves quietness, comfort and delicious food, then better opt for Hotel Cocobeach.

Room was clean and spacious, paid the equivalent of 65 USD
Service was poor, when I arrived I needed to make change to pay the moto-taxi that got me there and all the staff refused to make change for me, including the manager. I had to protest to have change made, pretty crappy. Service from there on out was pretty lifeless and no effort was made to make me feel welcome.
The beach is not casual for swimming with a strong drop-off and a serious current and waves that are only buffered a little by a sea barrier.
The pool is nice, however.
I had the seafood pasta, which was great.
Nice place, maybe a best choice in Lome I don't know, but the service was lifeless.

There are only a few palatable choices for hotels in Lome. The major hotels are very expensive, but usually up to Western standards. The Hotel Sarakawa seems to be the best one, but is almost $200 USD a night.

The Hotel Coco Beach is a little different. It is not luxurious or centrally located. You'll have to ask one of the hotel staff to walk to the main road (past a very poor area) to hail a cab for you. The rooms are dated and a little dirty. The beds are on slats, with no box spring. They are VERY loud when you roll over. The bathrooms have poor water pressure, small hot water heaters, and look like they have not been updated since the Carter Administration.

However, at about $75 USD or less per night for their largest room, you could certainly do much worse. The restaurant is average (there are certainly better places to eat in Lome), but adequate. The beach is quiet, and you are much less likely to be mugged there than on the main beach in town. The huts and chairs are free for guests of the hotel. The setting is quiet, albeit next to a large port. You should have some working knowledge of French to deal with the staff (and Lome residents in general).

If I was looking to spend time on the beach, or staying more than two nights, I might stay here again. For shorter stays that are city-oriented, I would probably stay at one of the more expensive places in town.
