“Comfortable and homely”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

I stayed with my husband in the hotel for 6 nights(10th -16th March 2013) and I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel is very easy to locate, virtually all moto riders and cab drivers know the place. Its located in a safe, quiet and central place.
There are good and cheap restuarants around if you do not want to eat at their restuarant.
The staff are very wonderful people from the manager to the receptionists to cleaners and security men, always willing to help you out, another plus is that a good number of them understands English.
I must also mention that there is wifi available in all the rooms for free and is very fast and also the basics(hot water, airconditioner, ceiling fan etc) work well.
Anytime am in lome,I will lodge at this wonderful hotel.

We stayed here when traveling from Ghana to Benin and stayed for one night. The location is good and the neighborhood was calm. The service was good and the personnel happy to try help us in English, though with some little French it worked out well. There is a top-floor restaurant/bar which was very cozy and original with 360 view over Lomé.

The room was clean and had warm water, which is rare when traveling on a smaller budget in this region. We also had a balcony and it was overall a pleasant stay.

The hotel also helped us with booking a taxi to drive us to the Benin border and help us through there. Very good service but a bit high in price (lesson learned: do always negotiate prices for services and taxis etc.). :)

We stayed here two nights in their cheapest room at 18,000. They have a wide range of rooms, mostly in the 19-25,000 range with a couple going up to 50,000. We peeked into a couple rooms and although they all differ in size and shape, we felt our room was essentially just as nice as most of the other ones. It was large, bright with a big closet/desk unit. The air-conditioning worked fine if a little weak at the hottest times of the day. Hot water was plentiful and water pressure was great. TV had a couple channels with CNN and 24France in English. We found our stay to be overall enjoyable. The breakfast was small and overpriced at 1900 but typical of most places. But our other meals were generally great at the restaurant and turned out to be very good value compared to some nearby restaurants. In particular, the sauce archide with chicken for 2500 was by far the best meal I'd had in West Africa with actual boneless skinless chicken breasts of good quality. Location is a little out of the way, on a sandy side-road a good 10 min drive from the downtown. But the neighborhood is quiet and we felt safe walking around during the daytime. Staff at front desk were friendly. Our only complaint was that the wifi was incredibly slow to the point of almost uselessness. Since we had picked this place because we hoped to use the internet, this was a pretty big disappointment. That said, we still had a good stay and would recommend it. If you are interested in the cheaper rooms, it would pay to book ahead as they tend to book up first.

At Hotel Equateur where we stayed for three days recently, we were provided a room with a nice view of the sea. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable with good beds. There was internet accessibility too in the room. The area is calm and quiet and hence we had no problem in sleeping there at nights. The bathroom was clean and of decent size. There was hot water supply although the day. The hotel offers great service. The staffs are helpful and friendly and speak in English. We have nothing negative to say about Hotel Equateur and we certainly recommend it to anyone.

This is a nice place and good value. The rooms are large and clean and looked just like the photos on the hotel website. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly with pretty good English. There is a nice (but small) rooftop bar/ restaurant.

It's on a quiet street; the only downside is that most mototaxi drivers don't know the hotel so you need to get your bearings and be able to give them directions coming back from the center of town.

Plenty of hot water. I would have appreciate more than one large towel in the bathroom, since I shower about 4 times a day in that tropical heat. But I highly recommend the place overall.
