“Come for the beach, not for the food.”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

No lie, the beach here is extremely nice. It's one of the few you can swim in near Lome, and the water and sand are both pretty clean. Security is also good. It's my number one choice when I just need the sound and smell of surf.

The food, on the other hand, is merely ok. I've definitely had better seafood in other places in Lome, and this was pricier than others. Still, it makes for a very nice day out, sitting on the surf and then getting dinner before heading back to home.

“NIce setting, decent food”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

Coco Beach in Lome is just past the port along the main road which runs alongside the beach. It is maybe a 10min drive from the Mercure Hotel. The setting is really nice, with tables on the beach and the waves crashing on the shore. The food is good and the service is pretty decent. There are sun-loungers which you can relax on, as well as a pool which is available.

“One of the most amazing things to do in Lome”
Reviewed May 16, 2013

Lome in general does not offer much excitement and Coco beach is a fun place that offers a great sandy beach, a nice and economical restaurant.

It is about 45 minutes drive out of Central Lome on a road that usually faces some traffic jams around the harbour area.

A taxi would cost you approx 4000 CFA one way from the boulevard.

The sunsets in particular are fantastic and there is a small entry charge of 300 CFA to access the beach.

There are other beaches in the vicinity and you can even rent a huge villa for about $50 if you plan to stay overnight.

DEFINITELY Recommended.

“Excellent Beach Bar/Restaurant”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

Coco Beach is exactly the kind of place which I like - it is exactly the kind of place West Africa needs more of.

Fresh seafood served on the beach in a great relaxed spot. I ate a fish called 'Bar Fish' it was perfectly cooked with some sauteed potatoes.

It had a pretty cool and busy bar (we here on a Sunday).

Highly recommended

“Best Waves in Lome!”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

By far the best thing about this hotel are the waves that come in from the Atlantic Ocean. Waves can be entertaining anywhere, but these have an extra bonus because you can enjoy them twice! There is a road about 100m out from the shore that has long since been abandoned, but serves as a breaking point for the waves. They crash onto this "break" and make fantastic sounds and water explosions, then ride in to the shore and do the same thing there. (I will try to post a few photos). Fascinating! The food was good. Accommodation was good. Service was satisfactory. No complaints and I would certainly recommend Coco Beach to a friend!
