“Peaceful setting, incredible food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2012

We spent one night at Foresters Arms Hotel. It is quiet and well off the beaten path. It was peaceful. The rooms were comfortable and well-kept. The dinner was absolutely wonderful. Being from the states, some of the food was unfamiliar, and it was great to be able to taste a small quantity rather than have a large amount of something I wasn't sure I would like. I didn't find anything here I did not enjoy. Breakfast the next morning was interesting, as I had no idea what an English breakfast was. I thoroughly enjoyed this place.

“Good value for money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2012 via mobile

Don't know why the Forester's Arms is not listed as a hotel in Tripadvisor, but anyway. We stayed for two nights and found it to be great value for money and really up to standard. Rooms are well serviced, although a kettle with tea and coffee would be great. Beds are very comfy and we had a good night's sleep. We didn't have dinner but the fixed menu looked really good. The breakfast was well presented - not infinite choices but quite sufficient and tasty. Small things sometimes make a difference - we found the car washed without having requested it on our second day, which was a relief after spending the previous day traversing dusty roads. I can highly recommend the Forester's Arms, it's a good getaway place or a stayover and doesn't cost the earth.

Nice place and very comfortable but a little off the beaten track. Worthwhile place for a maximum of two days visit. Lovely restaurant and meals are top rate!
