Beautiful location, easy to get to town, nice spot for outdoor walks, cool people, friendly staff, clean and cool rooms, good contacts to whatever you want to do with your time in Swaziland. A good place to meet other travelers and crazy locals :) I have stayed at Bombaso's altogether for ~6 months, no complaints!

From the moment you enter the gates to Bombaso's Backpackers, you will feel right at home. The staff is friendlier and more helpful than than those words can even express, they will do anything they can to help you. Traveling alone, I was so happy to come to Bombaso's, where people are open and it's easy to feel that you are a part of something. I believe that says a lot about how the place is run. Such a relaxed atmosphere, where no problem is too difficult to solve.
There is plenty of space, the property is pretty big, and whether you want a quite place to read a book or if you want to try some new shooters with twisted names at the bar, this will be your spot.
Big thanks to Jason and his staff. I really hope I can come back to Bombaso's some time soon.

Bombasos is a nice, safe, and conveniently located backpackers just a few kilometers or an R4 khumbi ride from the Mbabane bus rank. Bombasos has several dormitories, a few private rooms, two kitchens, a bar area, a pool area, and a camping area - so no matter what you're looking for you'll find it here. On top of all that, Bombasos is staffed and frequented by friendly and fun people that are respectful and courteous as well. Every now and then the hot water runs out but that sort of thing happens a lot in Swaziland. Overall, the best choice for backpackers in Mbabane.

Nice, beautiful place. Staff were great and realle really friendly. Rooms were also clean. The place has really good flow, i think! Location was good and staff were helpful. Staying here was really easy. Our room was next to the tv-room, so it as little bit noisy. But at nights it was really quiet so we could sleep very well. Many showers but there wasnt always enough hot water.

After travelling a full day from Barra to Mbabane with two mates from Moz, we eventually arrived at our destination for the evening - Bombaso's.
As the owner, Jason came out to greet us and show us his rooms, it turned out that he and one of my travelling companions had gone to school together and not seen each other in over 10 years! After we got settled in to the lovely dorm room and had a fabulous HOT shower, we had a couple of beers at the bar, where we played some pool and foozeball - and the beers are cheap.

There are private rooms available as well, if a dorm is too public for you. But the dorms are great and have a huge lounge and kitchen area with DVD's to watch and coffee and tea. The laundry facilities are great and there is also an outside pool, braai and bar area where camping is also permitted.

Jason then took us to the Gholf Club, where it seems all the youngsters go for some pizza and a joll! The place was PUMPING! But, alas, we were weary travelers so settled for a warm meal and an early night watching a movie in the lounge. The dorm rooms are R130 pp/pp, which is well worth it, considering that each room has two bunk beds only and a shower and toilet for each dorm, too. The bedding, dishes and house in general is very clean and of high standard.

There is also a security guard that patrols the yard all night, so it is very safe to wander around the property. There are manyactivities to do aound that area as well. We went just down the road from the backpackers to see Sibebe rock - the largest granite outcrop in the world. After, we headed just out of town to the Ngwenya Mines, which is the oldest known mining site in the world and where iron ore was extracted from for many years - this is a guided trail, costs R30 a person and includes an info session in the museum and a short walk upto one of three caves - the Lion cave (apparently names after the beer, the other two are castle cave and some other local beer cave).

Next time I go to the wonderful wolrd of Swaziland I would definitely return to Bombaso's and would encourage others to go as well. It got such a peaceful and creative atmosphere and will have you feeling right at home!

Happy travelling!
