This was the third or fourth visit. With the "Privilege Portfolio" it is certainly value for money. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is good.

There had been some heavy rain the day before and water had gotten in and soaked the carpet. It had been dried, but the smell of wet carpet . . . It greeted you from way down the passage. Because the hotel was full, they could not change the room. Housekeeping came with Air Freshner -- the combination of wet carpet and air Freshner. . . not good.

I would have thought they would have gone to a little more trouble to try and make amends by transferring us to one of the other hotels in the group.

The rooms are old, but still cozy. They still have those old TVs that take up 1 quarter of the table! I was on the first floor, and poeple kept on walking and making noise in the corridor. This also means the rooms are not sound proof (so watch out what you do inside:))

The Lugogo Sun is the poor-relations cousin (and property-sharer) to the much-more-elaborate Royal Swazi Spa next door. I have nothing but good things to say about the Lugogo staff -- they will do everything you ask of them and are completely enjoyable and helpful in every way. The on-premises restaurant offers a lot of dining options for those who don't want to stray too far. The pool and pool bar are beautiful and well-tended, and during the warmer months (October - May), I could easily see myself becoming a full-time denizen. The rooms themselves are just slightly on the shabby side, wireless bandwidth isn't quite what it should be, and the Wednesday night live music night is probably great for those who attend it but really bad for those whose rooms are nearby and unfortunately percussive.

Overall, though, I liked this hotel a lot. I would probably return with my family on a subsequent business trip to Swaziland.

Best of all, hats off to the hotel's management. I am very impressed with the friendly, thoughtful, respectful staff you've hired, and hope to return soon.

Thanks --

Roger

The picture in the caption is actually The Royal Swazi Sun hotel, Lugogo Sun is more like a block of flats, the pool looks like it hasn't been attended to and people that stay in Lugogo Sun spend the majority of their time in Swaziland either at the Royal Swazi or Ezulwini Sun, these three hotels are part of the same group and walking distance of each other, however Lugogo Sun is the runt of the litter.
