“We got what we came for: to see a black rhino”
Reviewed February 5, 2012

Mkhaya GR is one of the few game reserves in Southeren Africa where the number of black rhinos is actually on the increase!
There's no selfdrive, only guided & overnight tours.
We booked a day drive (10am - 4pm, lunch included) in the park, and hoped we would see a black rhino.

Our guide, Bongani, did a very good job. He gave some good explainations and answered all our questions, while showing us some animals the park has to offer. Elephant, white rhino, zebra, antilopes, ... .
After a very good lunch (impala, yummie!) we started looking for the black rhino. And we found him! The guide checked on the rhino's mood, and decided that is was safe for us to alight from the vehicle. It was a great experience to see a black rhino from that close (10-15m).

Altough they can't promise you to see a black rhino, I bet if you go to Mkhaya, you will see one!
