Rather friendly staff and nice enough location, however the rooms, restaurants and the hotel is not worth a 4-star rating if compared to European standards. Leaks from the toilet on three separate rooms and rather old and unmodern rooms.

Good service and not the worst price is positive things and I would rate this hotel as a nice 3-star hotel!

I am currently staying at the Savana Hotel. A place that I would not have choosen myself as it is far from my bsiness. But the excellent location on the promonitory facing the Goree Island is relaxing and makes ou recver quickly from a busy working day. Staff is attentive and helpful.

The hotel seems run down. Many rooms are in the process of maintenance and therefore not in use. This gives a kind of desserte or emty atmosphere. The restaurant is merly an advanced snackbar.
staff is very nice and helpfull.
The swimmingpool is speracular.
Transport from the airport is problematic and hotel reAlly needs a shuffel. The airport is full of hustles and fake taxis - TAKE CARE.

I spent 2 nights at this hotel, after one night at the Radisson Blu hotel, also in Dakar. Radisson wins hands down if you enjoy a 'perfect' but somewhat sterile 5 star hotel experience. However, I found myself far more at ease at the relaxed, imperfect, considerably cheaper Savana. The position is excellent, a little far from the airport, but on a quiet promontory overlooking l'Ile de Goree. Wonderful views, green gardens, fantastic real 50m olympic lap pool. OK, the rooms are tired (but clean), the fitness centre is all but defunct and the restaurant so so, but the staff very friendly (English not great) and the overall feel welcoming. LIttle quirks like frenchmen doing laps in their speedos (have the Europeans no shame) add to the couleur locale. I wouldn't bother with the breakfast (come on, lousy croissants in Dakar?), the fish at the restaurant was reasonable however.

I have visited Senegal many times, and this time another hotel I stayed for the first night had a computer system breakdown and I changed to this hotel as we had a meeting in this hotel. This was my second stay in this hotel, and I left the hotel with a bit better impression. The reception of the hotel is located at the same level as the load leading to the hotel and then you have to walk down the stairs to the lower level near the ocean where you have rooms, restaurant, and pool. The internet was first enough to watch a video stream of youtube. The bed had a mosquito net and I had a good sleep. The bathroom has a good size and the shower outlet is big. Out of three nights, I had a good temperature one day. On the other two days the temperature did not get hot, but usually I do not believe that would be considered as a serious problem in Africa. The restaurant offers good lunch and dinner. I just wish that the breakfast would be a bit better presented.

There are not airport pick up by the hotel vehicles. Compared to hotels in les Almadies, the location is great if you have to have to come to the downtown during the day time, as most part of Dakar is accessible by a short (5-10 min) taxi ride about 2000 CFA (about USD 5 or EUR 3.5). There are always taxi available in front of the hotel. I saw some hotel guests jogging on the load during the nice daytime.

The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the centre of town and the rooms look right on to the sea and have superb views from the small balconies. The swimming pool is excellent and staff are charming. But the room decoration is dated and tired - and it's definitely not for those who don't like steps. Breakfast is pretty poor for the price but we had very good food for other meals during our conference.

Stayed at the Pullman a year ago, it wasn't very nice. The central location was actually a disadvantage, noisy and always crowded, so we specifically asked for a different environment. Arrived late at night, didn't notice much, but were nicely surprised in the morning. From the balcony, we were greeted by an Olympic sized swimming pool and then the Atlantic Ocean just a stone's throw away. Later we found out that we share the same stretch of road with the Prime Minister's residence and the President is also within walking distance, now that can not be a bad neighbourhood! My only compliant, the breakfast is a little sparse and the restaurant needs some improvement.
