The buffet of rwandese food from Monday to Friday it's absolutely delicious. It's also a nice place to meet people while having lunch.

This cafe is a full menu but a bit expensive. The fare is primarily African consisting of lots of dishes made of rice and beans.

Go, it is where all the locals go for lunch. I had a great big plate of fish (which looked horrible but tasted wonderful and various salads and beans) and sat outside. If it is good enough for the locals it is probably quite good value. Wonderful.

If your looking to try authentic African food, Afrika bite is the place to go. Their lunch and dinner buffet is reasonably priced at 3,000 francs, and soft drinks or water only cost 500 francs. They serve their dishes in traditional clay pots, and the food was hot and fresh. I really liked the potatoes, matoke, dodo greens, fresh peas and the beef was tender and well cooked, make sure you load up on their peanut sauce, its the best! Compared to other lunch buffets downtown, they have less items, but it's a nice setting and good recipes. I personally prefer the buffet at Camellia and Karibu, only because their selection of cold salad items and vegetables is much bigger, and you get fresh fruit for dessert. If you're a veggie lover, this isn't the place for you, but if your visiting Kigali and want to eat traditional african food, come early for lunch during the week because the place fills up fast.

The winner is the fresh food. The quaint plates and served on traditional pots.. plus their groundnut sauce is to die for and the food is always piping hot!
