Dinner at Heaven was very pleasant. Sheilah was a very engaging waitress and did a brilliant job; the ambiance was lovely and the squawks of fruit bats a unique if inadvertent touch.
The menu sounded great - familiar food with a distinct Rwandan twist. It did, however, not always work. The fillet was very good and perfectly cooked, taro was interesting and the sauce delicious. Cassava chimmichurri however doesn’t fly - cassava being just too bland when given a chimmichurri lable. But still nice. Panna cotta with basil and cardamom wasn’t great - overset and zero basil or cardamom flavour; though not a bad dish if the lable had been different.
Somewhat critical as the restaurant does put itself out there as exceptional; and it isn’t quite. Would still probably return.
