Not knowing the country we were advised to book here, though found the 100€ steep for a hotel in one of the world's poorest countries.
We have not seen any rooms in the main building, but our room in a bungalow was well below average, though clean. The breakfast was adequate. Apart from the terrace and the reception lobby, there is nothing luxurious about this Grand Hotel du Niger though the staff were very friendly.
We could not miss the sunset over the Niger River on the Hotel's terrace, which also attracts local people. The meat skewers were good value, but we often found the meat very undercooked, almost raw. Unless we had no alternatives, we would not return to this hotel. However, we did find good alternatives in the Hotel Terminus and the Hotel Sahel, which we found both to be much better value and better appointed.More
