The first impression of this place is...Indiana Jones movie)) The decorations are similar to those we could see in Disneyland however the place is a real Beer House, where you can choose your favorite craft beer and have a hearty lunch.

We were taken here by Namibian friends who wanted us to experience this restaurant. A fun evening with excellent food (mainly meat - but that is Namibia for you), drinks and company. Essential to book and best got to by car or taxi. If you have only one evening in Windhoek, chose here. You won't regret it.

A real labour of love with a million trinkets, artifacts, and junk hanging from every corner. It's lovely to sit outside, or watch sport in the bar. Service was quick and the waiter always available. The portions are more manageable now than they used to be. The food was good but not amazing. The snail starter was excellent though, the best I've had. The mains were ok, the vegetarian not that great and the kids ribs were horrible. A nice place to drink beer outside and enjoy the atmosphere.

Joe's has a great atmosphere, especially for tourists, and is always packed. The food is very good and doesn't take long. Staff are friendly and professional.

We arrived in Windhoek and decided that Joe's looked a good choice so turned up to find it fully booked. Luckily after our travels around Namibia we had one more night there and managed to book a table for then so if you want to go don't assume a table will be available as it's very popular so book ahead if you can. With family we had an early table at 6.30 on a Sunday night. It was already really busy there with a lovely atmosphere. Huge venue with lots of interesting curios, pools, seating areas. Promptly seated but had to wait a while for drinks and to order. Make sure you have pre-dinner snacks to keep you going before you arrive as we had to wait over 1 1/2 hours till our food arrived, by then our children were ravenous. Having said that the food was lovely when it finally arrived. We had game skewers with zebra, oryx and kudu I think, all cooked perfectly and delicious. Amazing skinny chips and fresh vegetables, the curry was lovely too. All in all the wait was worth it for great food and atmosphere. Lots of locals there too, not just a tourist haunt.
