Comfortable, pleasant stay at Hotel Pension Uhland. I was a little disappointed by their supper/dinner offerings, but if you are pre-warned that their suppers are small, then their cooking is fine. Be careful of their small parking area. I really enjoyed their WiFi included in the price and their central location.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
Thank you for a pleasant and restful stay!

Room Tip: Some rooms face the road, but it is not a busy road and I had no problems.

Spent two nights in Windhoek, just to see the city, no safaris, etc. The "15 min. walk to the center is a bit of a stretch, though it's not undoable...unless it's summer heat. June was nice and cool. Very basic accomodation, kind of a backpacker type of place. Limited dinner menu was still great: kudu steak and basic homemade bread, compliments of Domingo, and Windhoek beer. Airport is 43km from town, prepare for 280$N taxi for two. Still cheaper than a shuttle for 250$N each! City/town was much nicer than expected. Lots to see and buy. People may hassle you a little bit on the street, but much less persistent than in Cape Town, and often interesting to converse with. One of the best meals on the trip: National Institute for Culinary Education (NICE).

I spend alot of time travelling for business, and i stay in all sorts of place. One thing i have learnt is that you cannot judge a hotel on the room rate. This was one of those experiences, quite heavily priced compared to what you get else where. The aircons are single stand alone units, had to switch it off as it make such a noise. (oh and you pay extra for this noisy feature)

The rooms are old and sparse, the beds seem to be of the same age! The bathrooms need an upgrade. If i had paid 60% of what i paid, my review maybe would of been different.

Perfect accommodation for Buisiness and holiday at a reasonable price.
It is near to the city center but after a long day if you don't feel like going out for dinner they provide a very nice dinner menuie with full bar facilities.
It is advisable to request one of the new renervated rooms as they much more comfortable with new a/c and larger T.V. Sets.
There is safe secure parking near the rooms.

Room Tip: Chooes the new renervated rooms

Hotel Pension Uhland has great clean rooms, nice grounds, a great breakfast and a great staff. This is my second year in staying with them when visiting Namibia's fine Capitol City. The hotel is nicely located and very safe anf the price is good and inline with the services provided.

The hotel is okay. The owners are friendly but very business-minded. The distance to downtown is okay, but can be very strenous in the summerheat. There are some places to sit and relax in the poolarea, but don´t look around the corner in the backyard where there´s a lot of rubbish lying around. It´s okay for a short stay around arrival and departure ....

Hotel location is okay.It was over 30 degrees in Windhoek and our room had a huge fan that did nothing to cool a room with a corrugated roofs, the fan's noise was worse than the heat.
Beds were also uncormfortable. we had handsoap in the shower as bath gel.....

Rooms are clean but old and not appealing (the one we had). There was a lot of noise in the morning as guests were driving off, the rooms face the parking. Breaksfast was fair, but kicthen staff looked tired and not keen to assist. For $85 during peak season, you can find a much better place like Villa Moringa where we had also stayed. Would not go back.

Room Tip: Dont take the rooms that face the parking, they are prefabs, so get so hot and noisy.
