“World`s best sauna”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

I loved this place. The people, the food, the service... and the sauna is the nicest I have ever been in.
Gocheganas is situated just 30km outside Windhoek and it is quite possible to just go there for the day and spend your time telaxing in the wellness centre. However, the rooms are gorgeous and the beds are extremely comfortable.
I found the staff very helpful and so friendly.

We stayed here for one night at the end of our safari adventure around Namibia. It was conveniently located just outside of Windhoek and took about an hour to get to the airport the following afternoon.
Beware of the rollercoaster road as you approach Goche Ganas. I loved it but some people might not like the experience!
The rooms are very nicely appointed with a lovely bathroom with semi-sunken bath with a roof-light on the ceiling. I loved having a bath and staring up at the starry sky through my glass ceiling.
The food was probably the best I have had in Namibia - we don't eat meat and some places struggled to cope with this.
The grounds were beautiful and the pool area with its views of the surrounding mountains was breathtaking. We spent our last morning relaxing by the pool after enjoying a massage in the wellness centre.
The indoor pool was a bonus and was at a much more comfortable temperature than the outdoor pool and I liked the fact that there was a small gym though I didn't get a chance to use it.
The game drive was a bit disappointing with a rather unenthusiastic guide. My son has a great eye and spotted most things before the guide but what made it worthwhile was seeing seven rhinos including two babies. We had only seen one other rhino during our two weeks in Namibia. I would not come here for a safari experience but I would recommend this place as an excellent place to start of end your safari as it was very relaxing and very convenient for the airport.

Room Tip: Try to get a room as close to the reception as possible unless you like walking up steep hills

We stayed at the GocheGanas at the start of our two week Namibian adventure. A gift voucher for a spa treatment was a nice surprise. Dinner was excellent and we attended a star gazing session at night that was exceptional. B'fast was well stocked and we had a couple of rhinos for company. A very relaxing place and a perfect location to start/end a holiday in Namibia.

beautiful located lodge 20 km from windhoek. Nice spacious rooms with great view. Nice big pool. Huge property with game and game drives. You can see the game from your sun chair at the pool and from your private deck. Lack of service iin the restaurant. Not efficient, slow and not very friendly. They definitely need training

Room Tip: Twin rooms have an outside shower, King rooms normal bathroom.

Really upmarket with all the amenities of the really indulgent hotels. The gym, swimming pools, sauna and spa are quite a feature even if you don't use them. One evening at sunset I went for an hour's walk from my room to the main gate and back and was very impresed with the amount of game. It was literally teeming with animals. The food was good, the service was also fine. The rooms are nice and big, and well appointed.

Only half an hour outside of Windhoek, the hotel is positioned on a hilltop and consists of free standing chalets which are truly lovely and well designed, each with an outdoor shower and porch. A generous bathtub for 2 with a skylight to watch the stars completes the nice set-up. Great bed and individual comforters. The restaurant is located on the very hilltop as is the bar with actually 360 degree views. Amazing day and night. The spa offers all kinds of treatment, the massage was perfect and there is a generous sauna and nice indoor pool as well as outdoor pool. From the outdoor pool you can experience a perfect sunset. No other building in sight, just Namibian plaines and mountains with a waterhole in front of you. Even the food was one of the best we had in lodges in Namibia. the only thing we noticed: some of the staff wasn't that polite and friendly as in other places, maybe it is the closeness to Windhoek and that they are always well booked?? It seems also that there are some day guests. Make sure to reserve your treatments before you arrive or you may not get an appointment. Mini-bar and coffee making equipment in room. I would give it a 4,5 if there were the possibility.

It is the perfect place to start or end a trip to beautiful Namibia! close to Windhoek and the airport
it is a good place to adapt to climate and time zone! We did not start, but end our trip there, witch is also super as you can still enjoy for the last time wildlife and there we saw at last our first white rhino! The inside pool is great, as it still can be quite cool in august (it was freezing at night, all white in the morning), the spa was good, the food very good. It is well kept .
