My wife and I had a fantastic week at this guesthouse. It had a homely feel and the staff were very accommodating. The room was adequately furnished and clean. We found the food and drink very affordable and even ordered something which was not on the menu, it wasn't a problem. We've decided on another trip to Namibia next year and will be staying there again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the poolhouse2 room. It was great!

Some colleges and i recently stayed at this guest house by chance and were pleasantly surprised. The staff are all super freindly and helpfull, the rooms very well equiped and comfortable, and there was no lack of facilities, including free internet connection to all guests anywhere on there premises as well as in the rooms which made working there very convenient, and there was even an excellent restaurant and bar on premises that made you feel like your at the pub down the road, this with the comfort and service provided realy made us feel at home and we will be recommending this place to all our business associates and freinds alike, and will definately be staying here again whenever we return to Windhoek.

Room Tip: ask for a luxury room on the main premises, lots of parking, best internet reception, wont get a better room for the price anywhere in windhoek, closest rooms to breakfast hall.

I stayed at the KWGH for two days a spart of a business trip accompanied by my wife. The Check in went wonderfull with a verry helpfull Receptionist. The Room leaves much to be desired. The paint is peeling, stains on the bedding, verry small. Good not get a good night's rest because the "double" bed was so small. Brekfats was disapointing with stale bread and smelly condiments. I would realy not recommend this Lodging.

We apologize that your stay with us was not what you have expected.

Klein Windhoek Guesthouse provides different Room levels from BackPacker rooms starting at N$ 490 per Person to Luxury Studio Rooms. The rooms of course vary in size. All our double beds are queen size beds with a standard size.

It seems you have been in one of the older room still due for renovation.

Klein Windhoek Guesthouse is constantly improving the quality of rooms and thus renovating and rejuvenating on a constant basis.

Most people specificly like our included breakfast and our team would assist immediately if you would have had a special request.

There aren't too many recent reviews for the Klein Windhoek, and this really says a lot. I get the feeling that the place was perhaps run by other owners and/or managers when the better reviews were written. Quite frankly, this place was absolutely awful. Again, our not too reliable Tour Company booked us in here, promising that it would be compensation for our other unhappy Windhoek experience, but alas! More of the same.

The Klein Windhoek is a row of houses in pretty much it's own street, as the owner buys them up to create this little enclave. It looks like a holiday camp, with rows of little chalets. Ours was decorated from head to toe in a nightmare of very dark brown and beige, with swirls of non descript cream colour just to liven things up. The furniture was dark brown, the dark brown carpets were stained, and the overall effect was just grim.

The tap did not fully reach the sink in the bathroom, and the shower water did not drain away, leaving you ankle deep in water. Otherwise the water pressure in the shower was fine. I did not like the nylon toilet 'apron' around the front of the toilet bowl - it was beige, of course. Yuk.

The beds did not look especially inviting (beige sheets again), and I had the impression that they were clean, but only just. Not fresh. Our son's bed had a gulley down the middle, so it looked like he was going to sleep in a stretcher. Perhaps it's time to buy some new mattresses? The air conditioning did not work, but the staff came to fix it, and then it did sort of work, but not very effectively.

The two pools are small and when we arrived, they were covered with leaves and grime. In the morning, they were being tidied up and did look much better, but they were still hardly inviting. We went for an early breakfast, and found the hot food container full of neatly cut squares of bacon with white fat all over them, and curled up eggs. Otherwise, it was below standard B+B breakfast, and we made do with toast.

The staff were friendly and helpful, but otherwise, the Klein Windhoek is just plain awful. The best thing is the location to Joe's restaurant, and checking out. Avoid it like the plague.

The Klein Windhoek Guesthouse is situated in the preferred area of Windhoek and thus in a quite residential Area. Over the years, the Guesthouse has been build nicely on the various properties and the houses have been redesigned to serve as guest rooms. Thus the rooms are widely spread between the 6 properties at Hofmeyer Street and embed in a green belt within the various properties.

The color of the bedding is always a difficult one. We do use beige linen as we only use eco-friendly washing from ELSO. White linen would need bleaching and other chemical substances to keep them as white as guest want them to be which is not at all environmentally friendly. WIthout those substances and because of our water, sun and other influences, white linen soon looks grey and thus not appealing as well.

In 2012 many of the rooms have been entirely renovated and renewed which also includes beds and mattress, bathroom etc.

We only planned to stay here one night at the end of our holiday but ended up staying three nights! Although we booked a 'budget' room we found it far surpassed this - smart furnishings, large en-suite shower room, large flat screen TV, tea/ coffee making facilities.

Breakfast was outstanding - huge continental selection as well as 'full English' , complimentary filter coffee and danish pastries all day too! A well stocked bar and good value basic lunch time snack food as well as evening 'bar snack' menu was served - the beef and oryx steaks were the best we'd tasted throughout our holiday.

However, the staff really made our stay very special - we had our passports stolen on our last day and had to return to the Klein Windhoek until we could get emergency passports to fly home - the staff were simply brilliant, incredibly helpful and nothing was too much trouble - if it wasn't for their help we'd never have made it home 2 days later.

I would certainly recomend staying here as a great base to explore Windhoek city and nearby countryside either at the start or the end of a holiday
