I love staying in Rivendell, the house and garden are always spotless and well maintained. The staff are helpful, friendly and efficient. It is close enough to walk ino town, 10/15 mins approx but a little longer on the way back because of the hill! Breakfast is filling, there's a order in list of places for those who do not wish to eat out in the evenings or you can do your own cooking in the kitchen. there is also an "honour" system for drinks ,chips and cake, take, write it down, enjoy, and pay as you settle your bill. I usually stay in Rivendell on winter nights and I love the way each guest gets a hot water bottle around bed time!

This was a great place to stay. It was welcoming, clean and safe. I stayed in 2 very different rooms but both were great. Pool was clean and facilities excellent. I chose a shared bathroom which was fine. The showers were excellent!
I would definitely stay here again and recommend it highly!

Rivendell is gorgeous place. My room was beautiful, as were the gardens and the pool. Everything was perfectly clean and the furnishings were chosen with good taste. I liked the system of drinks and cake available (just write down what you consume, pay on departure). The breakfast was great, but it's possible that a smaller version (for less money) would be a good idea. I ate too much!
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Just one small concern; the toilet and bathroom were shared by too many people. I can imagine this could pose quite a problem.

We stayed here only one night, but would happily have stayed longer. We arrived at breakfast time, and were invited to have tea and toast. Our children really appreciated the toast after our early morning flight from Cape Town, and we took our tea out to sit by the pool in the bright morning sunshine.

Our room was right by the pool, with a huge en suite bathroom, a double bed and two single beds. Simple but comfortable. We did have a quick dip in the sparkling pool, although it was very cold.

We walked into the city centre (about 15-20 minutes, with some wide and quite busy roads to negotiate, but perfectly walkable) via the railway station and train museum, which were really interesting. The city centre itself is compact and bustling, no stunning architecture, but a fascinating slice of Namibian life. We had coffee in the Zoo Park café, very pleasant. The children enjoyed being allowed to loll in front of the tv in the lounge too.

The breakfast at Rivendell was hearty - cooked stuff plus a buffet of the usual breakfast items. We intended to sample the delicious-looking cake left out in the afternoon, which you could help yourself to and pay for via an honour system, but were too full from our snack in the park! The same system applied to drinks from the fridge. We used the kitchen to prepare a simple evening meal.

We had a briefing from ATI staff about the rest of our trip around Namibia, which was really helpful and comprehensive, although there were a few wrinkles about accommodation arrangements (which got sorted out over the next few days). Our hire car was delivered to the accommodation, which has ample off-road secure parking. The staff were unfailingly friendly and polite, and we would probably stay here again if we ever return to Windhoek.

We arrived early morning, were efficiently met and taken to this ATI headquarters. BReakfast took some time, but was very good. Rooms big and nice, bathroom quite decent but nothing fancy and some improvements could do (mixed water outlets and alike). Nice open bar feature, homemade pie was excellent. Internet has good speed but is provided at extra charge

Room Tip: #4 is best, probably, as bigger and more aside off the pool

From the beginning the staff were very helpful and accommodating. We stayed three nights, two in a double room with ensuite next to the pool and one in the budget accommodation. Both rooms were clean, comfortable and full of light. The optional breakfast is well worth the price with plenty to satisfy the best of apetites. Otherwise, you can cook your own breakfast, as well as other meals, in the communal kitchen. On the third night we parked our hired 4x4 in the grounds where a security guard is on duty all night. We particularly liked the hostel's location very close to the city centre. We would be quite happy to stay there again.

A lovely B and B. we had one of the apartments next to the pool which was very spacious and comfortable. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The breakfasts were good but unless you want a really good meal they may not be worth it.

Room Tip: Ask for a poolside room if you are a family
