Galton House is situated in the affluent area of Eros. It’s quite a way form the center of town so you will need a cab to go anywhere. As you will see in Windhoek, everybody is behind huge gate and fence and so is Galton so you will feel very safe. The owner who welcomed was very friendly and efficient as was the rest of the staff. The room overlooked the small car park but its not big deal. The room was large, very well furnished, cute and modern. Great bathroom with good toiletries. You get cable TV and Wifi. The communal parts are very cute and there is a lovely compact swimming pool and terrace. You can have tea and cakes in the afternoon and cooked breakfast was plentiful. A great night sleep after a 15 hours journey! Galton is a good place to rest before going on to explore the rest of Namibia. If I had to stay longer in Windhoek, I would probably try to find something more in the center of town (very small as it it!). the other good thing is that most small airplanes which take you to other parts of Namibia go from Eros airport and not the main international airport which means you are close to it by staying at this B&B

The House is a premium place where you can enjoy the benefits of 4 or 5 star hotels, but in addition the place have a spirit and personalty.
the service is accurate and to the point, the rooms are comfortable and ultra clean.
The food is great as the selection of the wines.

The only but in our case was a bit noisy company of 4 Americans. But no problems after all.

We stayed for our first night in Namibia before travelling on. The bedroom was comfortable and cool (just sunlight from a glass door facing onto an inner courtyard, so protected from the heat of the day) and the indoor public areas were delightful, spacious and relaxing with lots of books on Namibian wildlife and landscapes to pore over. The breakfast was excellent, generous and freshly prepared and deserved to be savoured. For our first night we did not expect the locked courtyard, but we soon got used to it throughout Namibia, and parking was good.

We spent one night at Galton House at the end of our Namibia holiday. The place has the feel of an upmarket guesthouse...we definitely had the impression of staying in someone's (very nice) home. The welcome and the hospitality we enjoyed were good.

The rooms are situated on a quiet inner courtyard near the small swimming pool. Our room was fairly spacious (though perhaps because there wasn't a lot of furniture) and quite stark in appearance. It was very clean, had a decent air conditioning unit and contemporary ensuite with a large and powerful walk in shower. We found the bed to be extremely hard and it did not afford a particularly comfortable night's sleep, though admittedly this could be personal taste.

As there was no seating in the room we spent most of our relaxing time in the stylish and comfortable living room area. Complimentary wifi was available throughout the accommodation.

We ate dinner at Galton House, principally for convenience- it's located a way from the centre of town, and we had an early start the following day. The three course dinner was simple, tasty and fresh and reasonable value for money. Because we were checking out early, conveniently, a simple breakfast tray of tea, coffee and biscuits was placed in our room in the evening.

In all, we felt Galton House was fine for a short stay.
