“Even better than expected”
Reviewed July 27, 2012

I stayed only one night in the Otavi suite at the Olive Exclusive, and although my expectations were high from the reviews and photos online, it managed to exceed them. The suite was absolutely wonderful - one day is not enough time to really enjoy all the amenities on offer. The enormous, freestanding bath (particularly after 2 weeks of driving around some fairly rough roads) was much appreciated. The fast and free wi-fi (including a laptop if you don't have your own with you), and the enormous, comfortable bed made this a very welcome retreat before a long flight home.

The staff were wonderful, the food was just superb (Namibian Beef fillet cooked to perfection, then a cointreau chocolate pot for pudding - wonderful!). Breakfast is an individual buffet, brought to your table on a multi-tier stand with fruits, pastries, yoghurts, cereals, and a fabulous mini freshly baked loaf of bread. Then select a hot breakfast from the menu options as well. A spectacularly indulgent way to start the day.

Highest possible recommendation - the room design is so beautiful, the attention to detail from the staff is fantastic, and the food is superb. A magnificent place, made even more wonderful by it's staff.

Spectacularly appointed gastronomic gem! I loved my enforced overnight and will plan them in future to enjoy the luxurious accommodations, gracious service and astonishing suites in perfect taste. Delicious dinner accompanied by perfect wines. Absolutely world class.

Stayed with my family for one night on the way through Windhoek and would highly recommend. The welcome and service was first class and the food, especially breakfast, was amazing. However the highlight is the design of the rooms (we had the premier) which are simply stunning and unique. The designer deserves an award.

Room Tip: Just a warning that the rooms let in a lot of light, so sleepers who need dark rooms should take an...

After returning from our trip into the wilderness of Namibia, we were so reluctant to spend an evening in Windhoek! Fortunately I have recently read about Olive Exclusive. Carol, Mike and the rest of the team, well-done, and congratulations!! This hotel has been ons of the best we have ever come across. From the total interior to service, there is not one aspect that we can fault. I disagree with a remark from an other review, as pricey. This hotel is defnitely not pricey, shear luxury and so pleasing to the eye. Keep up the wonderful 'job' your doing. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable. What a splendid way to end our amazing trip.

Room Tip: Any room!!

The Olive Exclusive is a superior and magnificent accommodation in Windhoek with surprising, unique and extraordinary suites. You will find all kind of amenities starting from the private Nespresso maschine to a personal laptop to stay in contact with your relatives.
Food and service is outstanding, the support from the management i.e. Carol and Mike is attentive, discrete and never annoying.
As a business flight crew we are used to stay in hotels of various categories many days a year and if we have to label one hotel recommendable, it would be the Olive Exclusive

I unexpectedly found myself staying here on a business trip (the Olive Grove next door was full). It was a real treat. Beautifully decorated, lovely location, excellent food and good service. Pricey, but for something out of the ordinary this is worth considering.

We spent a couple nights here recently on the tail end of our Namibia trip.

Like Olive Grove next door, it is in a very nice location - very close to downtown yet outside the hustle and bustle. The rooms are great and each one is unique and large with plenty of amenities (plunge pools, outdoor showers, fireplaces etc for instance - not sure all have each of these so check pre booking/choosing).

The food is very very high quality and well prepared - the breakfast tray was mind blowing. Wine is very reasonably priced and the mini bar is not marked up vs cost outside so you can feel free to have a coke and not feel like you are paying through the nose.

I only gave a 3 for value though as the rooms are still very expensive (granted, we were in a premium suite). That said, with 2 people you are looking at the better part of 600 usd a night which isn't 'cheap' and for Namibia is very very top end for pricing. As much as I love the rooms, its hard to call it 'very good' value. If you can afford this place though, you are not looking for 'value' particularly anyway but its stiff enough that it makes you think about the money.

I had to hit the service for average as well as we had a transport mess up where our transfer to the airport basically got lost somehow (even though we reconfirmed it a week earlier as well as the night before with the front desk). We were able to make it after putting through a 440 am call to the manager - but not without some stress couple with not knowing what was going on if anything. The hotel was good about this in that they refunded the trip without us having even contacting them again post the mistake.

Definitely recommend the rooms/food and bar - just be prepared to pay up for the premium rooms.
