Villa Moringa Guesthouse

The location is in the best (richest) area of windhoek, says our travel guid. We passed the villa the first time, because you have just huge walls with electric fences in that area and small signs at the wall. This is one thing we never will ease into, because you feel more than in a beatyfull prison, than in an accomodation, but this is the general problem in cities in namibia and south afrika.
We arrived verry early from frankfurt and we received a late breakfast. We stayed here the first and the last day in namibia. The first room (pictures) was in the front building. The rooms are very nice, clean, large and have air-con. The breakfast is very good and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
I think one of the best accomodations in town.

Villa Moringa is ideally located in Windhoek and not far from the international airport Hosea Kutako.
So, an ideal location for your first or last day in Namibia.
Everything is superb in this guesthouse. The rooms, the breakfasts, the 2 (!) swimming pools, the excellent cuisine, the personnel, the location.
We were very friendly welcomed by Janine who gave us all necessary information for a nice stay at the guesthouse.

Villa Moringa is a very nice quiet place in a lovely quiet neighbourhood in Windhoek. The owners, with Portuguese roots, are very helpful and friendly. They have lot of knowledge of the travel business, so any concerns or questions you have regarding travelling in Namibia they will be able to give good advice.
The room we stayed in (nr 5) was very spacious, modern and spotless. We were welcomed by a lovely glass of port in our room. The big bathroom with a nice walk-in shower was immaculate. The only negative for us was the slightly hard mattresses, we prefer slightly softer ones.
You could have dinner inside the guesthouse (Portuguese themed), but we already had a reservation outside at Am Weinberg (very good, lovely views), so we couldn't comment on it. But we were privileged to try some of the home made cakes and they were lovely.
Breakfast was one of the best we had during our trip. The cooked breakfast was served really fast and was of great quality. Also the continental part of the breakfast was of high quality.
You can park your car safely at the guesthouse.
Well worth to stop over here.

My 3 friends and I really enjoyed our stay at Villa Moringa. Due to electricity problems we couldn't spend our first night there so the über-cute Janine informed us in advance that two rooms had been booked at another hotel for the price. This is service. And trust knowing that we had not given our credit card number at all!
We spent our second night (so the first in reality) two weeks at the end of our trip. The villa is really nice, deco very cool and modern.
Breakfast was great with everything you need, sweet or salty.

What a memorable experience it was to arrive at Villa Moringa after 12 days of camping and to be greeted with such hospitality. Beautifully appointed accommodation, superb breakfast and wonderful service from hostess Janine. Cannot rate this establishment highly enough. They went out of their way to be helpfull. Will definately stay here again.

Yes, you are better off with a car here and we also got a little turned around by the revised street names, but arriving we knew we had made the right choice for starting our self-drive safari through Namibia. The hosts are incredibly welcoming and they made us reservations for dinner soon after we arrived.

The room was in their new wing and it was gorgeous with plenty of heat, which is necessary in winter there. Also- and we hadn't seen this before - they had a free mini bar. Pretty great. Topped off by a delicious hot breakfast, this was the best way to recharge after the long flight and begin our journey.

First let me say, it was really hard to find, due to some change in street names. What was on the street and on the map was not the same. The rooms are nice, clean, quiet, the breakfast had everything you wanted and the staff was friendly. Parking is small and tight if you come in a big car (land rover). The do take credit card with out upcharge, the price is on the higher side.
