This is an unusual and charming place, all built out of clay obviously, with a beautiful communal area and a well-designed pool, and well-appointed accommodation huts.
It's not big, and therefore there's less chance of encountering a large group.
The owner, Bettina, is a charming and helpful host, and was very helpful to us when we had an emergency at home to deal with on our first night, and needed to use her computer to access the internet.
The food here is really excellent. As with most such lodges in Namibia, there isn't a menu as such, and you eat what is served up, but in the 2 days we spent here every meal was superb, and that is certainly not always the case in other lodges.
The wine cellar is another good point, with lots of good wines on offer at decent prices.

This was our 4th tour in Namibia in the last 7 years, and for a change we decided not to spend the first and last nights in Windhoek, and I was very happy with the decision.
Whilst there isn't a whole lot to do here, apart from some well-marked bush walks on the property etc, it's a great place to relax and get into the holiday, or alternatively the last stop before dropping off the hire car at Windhoek airport.

We stayed here at the end of a self-drive safari. It is close to Windhoek airport where we dropped off our rental car and took a flight back home. It is a great place to unwind and relax after being on the road. It is a charming little lodge with rustic decor. It is the little thoughtful touches that make a difference - refreshing towels and fresh lemon juice are provided on arrival; the bathroom has luxurious kalahari brand toiletries including insect repellant and sunscreen; bathrobes, shoe cleaners and sun hats are provided for use, there is a complimentary freshly baked cake and tea/coffee every day at tea time. Dinners were delicious and well presented. The owner/manager is present every evening for a chat and advice if needed. There is a small pool with sun loungers - ideal for a dip but not great if you would like to swim laps. Great for a one or two night stop over.

We spent our last 2 nights in Namibia, after a fabulous road trip of nearly 3000km Eningu was perfect in every way. An hour or so south of Windhoek, ideal for the airport run, Eningu has so much to offer,a pool, roof terrace perfect for sundowners, walking trails and a waterhole, throw in great food a very friendly team and comfortable accommodation and you have a perfect end/beginning to your Namibian adventure.

What a surprise, and what a treat to stay at this Lodge. Bettina has created a dream location just 1 hour from the airport. Beautiful rooms, all spotless and with individual character. The artwork throughout the location is superb, and the meals are very tasty. They also have a very good wine list with good wines that are very reasonably priced.

I hate to say too much about this Lodge, because I don't want to spoil its character. However, I doubt Bettina would ever let that happen. She is wonderful!

I wish we'd stayed longer than one night, this place was seriously lovely. After a long drive the cold towel and drink was most welcome, and the service remained great through our stay. The room was spacious (we were in the family room) and nicely decorated - the individual clay houses are beautiful. The swimming pool was cold, which was most welcome. Dinner in the evening was a set menu (although they checked with us it would be ok) and was way better than expected, a fantastic three course meal. Breakfast too was full of choice and complimentary tea and cake in the afternoon was a winner. The owner even brought our two little girls a Namibian gift! My only complaint (apart from not staying longer) was that they didn't seem used to changing mealtimes to suit small children, so even though we had asked to eat on time the food was a bit late, meaning we had to take the girls back to the room before dessert. But this was a pretty minor thing. I suspect it is relying a little on previous owners' awards - the craft shop was dusty and basically empty, we never found the wine cellar, we also had no luck in the hide and the waterhole is more of a pond, but desert sunsets and amazing stars more than made up for it!

Room Tip: Room 9 is the family room with a double and two singles (built as clay lounge beds) plus a little sitting area - although you need to put the sofa cushions on the stone floor if small children are at risk of rolling out. It's the furthest from reception so super quiet, but you need a torch to get there in the evening!
