Description: The Namibian Institute of Culinary Education (nice) is a restaurant and bar with a subtly sophisticated boutique atmosphere, modern yet stylish and comfortable. Besides being a commercial restaurant and venue for functions, nice also serves as an active training ground for trainees honing their skills in the culinary arts and food & beverage service.

They do prepare some interesting and unusual dishes, steak with chocolate, meat rolls with cinnamon...

Dear Guest
Thank you for visiting nice, and giving us the 'thumbs-up' on your choice of meal from our varied menu. As I'm sure you know, many of the young Namibians on duty at nice are trainees, learning the ropes of the industry. With local diners usually being our most fervent critics, it is always a great motivation to the team when a guest rates the meal and service highly.
We wish you a wonderful festive season, and many happy returns to nice in 2013 and beyond.
Kind regards, Alison

Having lived in Harare before I had difficulties finding a "perfect place" as the "shop café" in Harare. But finally I have to admit that NICE for me is closest to what Windhoek can give as "shop café" in the Doon Estate of Harare.
As a family with children, we find this restaurant catering high quality diverse, international food with excellent and friendly service at reasonable prices. Every thing is fresh and they make every effort to satisfy you. There are student waiters and student chefs. So they make mistakes but they always correct their mistakes in such a warm manner. There is always a baby chair, superfriendly waiters, the pizza is excellent for kids, the menu is interesting. The only downside is that they should offer more vegetarian dishes. My partner has been eating quite often the butternut ravioli (which is delicious) and the butternut soup. No complaints from our side as it is for us after three months of being in Windhoek,it is the nicest place to have a sit down meal in Windhoek. Note that it is better to reserve and that on Saturdays and on Sundays lunch is not served.

This was the best restaurant we went to in Windhoek, This is a must visit if you have time to spare. It is like being in a 5 start restaurant back home but for a quarter of the price

Ate here a couple of times. Overall a good experience. The service was a bit varying, but at no point bad. The food was good, I had the salmon which I really enjoyed. It was cooked to perfection. My other meal was a steak but not too noteworthy in any way.

The restaurant it self is really nice, feels a bit formal, and really stylish. But still decently priced.

All in all a good place to have a great dinner.
