This is one of the best B&Bs i've ever stayed in. Arriving in the sweltering heat, noise and stench of Maputo, Palmeiras Guest House is like an oasis. Very centrally placed, beautiful spacious clean rooms and bathrooms, extremely helpful staff, and beautiful central courtyard with tropical garden.

The highlight of the stay was the magnificent breakfast spread, with a spectacular fruit salad, fruitshake, tea/coffee, fresh baked products and delicious local foods fresh from the oven. Worth returning just for the breakfast! (see pcitures)

All in all, excellent value for money. If i return to Maputo, i will not consider staying anywhere else but here.

Very nice place to stay when you are in Maputo. It's very central. Very nice and clean rooms, free wifi. The owner offers you to arrange a pick up at the airport.
The breakfast is really very good: Fresh fruit salad, fresh juices, a lot of different cakes and many more things.

All staff were sweet, but management was notably attentive & responsive. Breakfast fare was excellent, it varied daily. A B&B, so it's simple - but the decor is charming & amenities are excellent, Due to business demands, sometimes I was too bushed to go out for dinner - no problem, as I ate my deli meals on the patio. The latter is pocket-sized yet invitingly picturesque. My only suggestion : replace extreme use of chemical bug spray with electronic mossie mats. Stayed 3 days & I will return.

This cozy guesthouse has only five rooms, so book in advance if you want to stay there. My room was quite spacious, with fridge, tv, wifi. The twin beds were clean, as well as the bathroom. Breakfast was great, with a awesome fresh papaya-or-something-exotic-like juice. It's normally priced with respect to the rest of Maputo (2800 meticais a single, 3600 a double), but the quality/price ratio is higher.

Room Tip: There was no wifi signal on room number 5. Signal ok on room number 1.

I had a very nice stay in this clean & cosy guesthouse.

Pros:
-daily efficient cleaning
-excellent breakfast: choise of breads, fresh fruits, good coffee, all you need
-total security with 24h gatekeeping
-comfy room, excellent matterass, my double had a french bed
-WORKING internet access
-within walking distance to Baixa (downtown), ok by daylight, less at night
-airport transfer available (to be booked & paid)
-nice little garden
-trust bar

Cons:
-far from main restaurant area, which is located along Avenida Nyerere. Solutions: have your own car or call a taxi (both pretty expensive)
-reception rarely serviced, you can always ring the bell and someone will come, but if you just need a chat about things to do, places to go.. you might not feel like bothering them
-no mosquitonet around the bed, but "only" windownet (efficient, but can make the room a bit claustro, for those who like to have a look outside)

Other tips
-often fully booked, so book ahead
-NO credit cards accepted
