The restaurant oozes elegance and class, the staff are attentive and professional and the owner of the restaurant is constantly interacting with the guests.
The food was out of this world, I don't think I have ever had a steak that was so tender, it was melt in your mouth! The wine was excellent and the dessert was orgasmic!

Yes it is definitely one of the more expensive restaurants in Maputo but what a return for your money. You would have to go a long way to find anything like it!

Went here twice as its close to my house but we find it extremely expensive and the quality not great. Once we had pasta, taste oh dear and the meat tasted like rubber. Second time we fish again not great. With so much good restaurants in Maputo go else where.

Top local chef Luis Carvalho moved operation from the smaller MD down the road to much larger and most central position in Maputo in December 2010.
Renamed Oporto in honour of that gastronomic citadel of Portuguese cuisine - it's a real triumph
Austere interior, clinical, the almost starkly white and blue decor is a little unsettling although the glacial aircon was very welcome the hot summer evening we visited
The menu is small and elegant with an emphasis on the BEST ingredients prepared fusing delicate French and Portuguese influences.
Top dishes for me were the souffle de camarao (prawn souffle) starter and the utterly indescribable "Tournedos Oporto" (Karan steak flambed in cognac and prawn).
He souces the beef from Swaziland and I have never tasted tenderer - cuts like butter and quite the most perfect taste.

Pricier than most in Maputo but well worth it - ideal for showing off to clients or taking a special date
