Fish Market in Maputo is highly recommended. The variety - and freshness - of fish and seafood is impressive in the small stalls in the market.. You make your choice of fish, shrimps (in all different sizes), octopus and calamares, and bargain a bit before you pay. Then you walk a few steps through the market into a small square where you have a number of small restaurant. All of them offering the same: to prepare your fish and seafood and serve it with sallad, rice and fried fries together with beer or wine. You can choose any of them but the waiters can be quite aggressive in trying to make you chose their restaurant. When you made your choice of restaurant and made your orders you can relax. You sip on your beer while waiting for the new grilled fish and seafood to arrive. And then - just enjoy. One thing though: the streets outside can be a bit rowdy at nights. So the best is to take a taxi there and arrange to be picked up.
