“Awesome place”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

You have not been to Maputo if you have not been to the fish market. The experience is amazing. The food is awesome. Very interesting concept in that you buy your fish from the stalls (I mean all types of fish) and in the back there are kitchens that prepare the food according to your preference. A worthwhile visit and you will be back

“Interesting”

Very smelly, but nice to visit and see all the live seafood. Lots of restaurants here - you can buy your seafood fresh and take it to one of the restaurants where they will cook it for you.

“Tourist trap”
Reviewed November 1, 2012

this place a huge tourist trap. all the tourist love to go to the fish market and get a bit of the cultural experience. Don't get me wrong, its a must see, BUT whatever you do DO NOT buy from the sellers. they will rip you off!!!
If you want good seafood, just pop next door to marnabrasa...

“Aweful”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

This place is a huge tourist trap! While the seafood is fresh it takes for ever to get them to cook it up for you and you never know if you get what you paid for. But the real issue is that there are tons of people trying to sell you junk that no one needs. They don't stop throughout your meal. It is really annoying. If you must go, go with a huge group and take up the center area and just make a ton of noise.
