Informative, well presented and even free - this site is a must when in Port Louis to learn about the history of Mauritius.

Concise descriptions and some exhibits without the overly lengthy museum feeling - guided tours are also available if you want to know more details.

A very informative and interesting museum
All visitors should take a 2-3 hours out to visit and it is free entry.
Gives background to modern day Mauritius but also about how men rest other men where the rich and powerful exploit the poor and dispossessed as is still the case today -a must see

This place is an absolute must-see; a UNESCO World Heritage Site!
It's a pity most tour companies don't bring more people here; this was a highlight for the history buff in me

Important place in Port Louis, a complex of buildings of the history connected with indentured labour staff coming from India, working on plantations. Historical and cultural context very interesting.

Not easy to find.Asked several people and they had no ideas. Finally arrived and it was very educational. The family learned about the history although you can access that on the internet. However if you want to know more you have to go to MGI institute, why not help those on the spot to do some researches etc.
