Visiting the volcano is just nice because there is not a lot of thing to do there. You just make the tour of the crater from the top and you can also see sightseeing landscaping during your walk. It takes approx 20-30 minutes to walk around but there is no signs or indications to give you additional details on the place. It’s a pity.

Not easy to find being located in the Curepipe suburbs and completely unsigned so have Google Maps ready. Almost impossible to look into the crater due to over grown trees and the like, a recently installed anti intruder fence should have been accompanied with some “housekeeping.” Nice views to the coast on a clear day.

There was nothing much to be seen here. The crater was covered with vegetation and looked like any other forest from the top. This one can be skipped.

We had a rental car and all we knew was the crater was in Curepipe. We got to Curepipe and asked for directions, we were told to go this way and then ask someone else about 3 times until the last man told us to turn right at next t intersection and follow road. We did test but still no signs to crater, except for a blue arrow on a street corner, we followed the arrow and we got to carpark.

You can walk around top of crater and take in view from different angles and imagine how it would have been.

Worth the effort if you are by yourselves.

There will be very few places where we can see a volcano crater and this is one of the best places. The view point gives a great view of the crater. You can walk around the edge of the crater. It is very green and filled with vegetation. Kids will understand the concept easily by a visit.
