A small group of us stayed at Kiboko while working in Malawi. The rooms were clean with a very Malawian decor! The breakfasts were also very good in the relaxed outdoor courtyard. Overall the hotel was good for catchup meetings and near to restaurants in the town. I would recommend it for a good priced, clean and comfortable stay in Lilongwe.

I've recently returned from Malawi having completed a long term contract there working across the country.

I stayed at Kiboko on several occasions during my time in Malawi and was always impressed. Its central location makes it ideal for travellers without their own transport. The rooms are clean and characterful, perhaps a bit small for the taste of some. The real highlights are the beautiful upstairs and downstairs bar areas, completely unexpected given the bustle immediately outside kiboko's doors. The staff are always polite and ready to help.

The only issue I have with kiboko is that they do not serve food in the evenings. There is a decent enough restaurant next door so food is available, but I'd much rather eat at Kiboko!

If you want the full services of a big hotel (24 hour reception, room service etc) then this isn't the place for you. But I cannot think of a better option for tourists and business travellers on a slightly more restricted budget.

Ndinacheza bwino nawo. Ndikabwerera ku Lilongwe, ndidzapereka moni ku Kiboko. Zikomo kwambiri.

The accommodation is basic, comfortable, clean and very well presented. The staff are very welcoming and keen to ensure that everything is in order. We had the family room which was sizeable and airy. There was a handy safe which was useful. We had lunch and breakfast in the restaurant which was tasty and well presented. We were impressed.

My son & I stayed here for two nights, at either end of short safari in the South Luangwa National Park in Zambia (brilliant by the way). On each occasion we were warmly welcomed by the staff, and quickly shown to our room. The room was clean and, though not large, was more than big enough or the two of us. The cooked breakfast was worth paying an extra 250 Kwacha for as it filled you up for the day. The only drawback was the music from the bar, but since we were in bed by 20:30 and the music stopped by 21:30, it was not a big deal. The staff were consistently welcoming and helpful

We stayed here one night before and one night after a safari in south luangwe. Go with Kipoko to this park, we can highly recommend it. The hotel got a central location, but the rooms need to be freshed up. But the rate is fair for what you get.

Stayed here a couple of nights. Very nice lounge area, great service from staff, good safari-trips.

Most rooms are ok or good - avoid the single room in the cellar - it is a fire trap.
Only downside for me was the smoke from smaller fires in the surrounding area - probably people preparing food during the morning and the day.

Quiet, safe and hustle-free.

After a very intensive trip in Malawi did we make a last stay in Kiboko Hotel.
It was a big surprise for us: in the middle of the crowded town, we went through a big door, and there was an oase of rest .
A wonderful place to be!
Nice, friendly and helpful staff, a good, clean room with airco and Wifi.
And last but not least, very good food !
