This is the third time I have stayed at the Kiboko and I would not consider staying anywhere else in Lilongwe. The rooms are spacious clean, comfortable and well equipped and the service from the staff is fantastic, where nothing is too much trouble. The bar upstairs is a great place to unwind in the evenings and the food in the restaurant is great, particularly the breakfasts! Would recommend unreservedly.

Second time we stay at Kiboko Town Hotel, the first time it was in 2008 and the staff is still very helpful and friendly. It's like coming back home.
The room are simple but decorated in african style that gives personality to this tiny, cheap and clean hotel in Lilongwe.

As a regular business visitor to Lilongwe I have stayed in the Kiboko on a number of occasions and have reviewed the hotel before. As usual the hotel was a very comfortable mixture of efficiency and relaxed friendliness. The rooms I occupied on this occasion, were clean, well appointed and the air con was a real benefit as there were several very hot days during my stay.
I was staying there on this occasion for a long period of time and was occasionally a very demanding customer. All my problems were solved cheerfully and successfully and both the staff and management were helpful in the extreme.
Whether you are passing through or staying for a longer visit and are looking to stay in central Lilongwe, I can recommend the Kiboko as a comfortable, clean and pleasant place to stay. For me there is no question and I look forward to my next visit.

Room Tip: Ask which rooms the hotel has available, there are a variety of room layouts.

I've stayed at Kiboko twice now, and appreciate the clean rooms, the pleasant leafy courtyard, wonderful banana splits(!) and helpful cheery staff. Food in the courtyard too is tasty and good value. It's very handily situated in Lilongwe too.

We had to stay for two nights in Lilongwe. On the day of our arrival and on the day before our departure back to SA. We stayed at the Kiboko hotel in town. Looks quite nice, simple but all in place. Just a shame that we had a problem with the toilet…and always at the wrong time!! We had dinner at the restaurant downstairs, which I believe was not connected to Kiboko Hotel.
Kiboko hotel is good for a stop over and when you don’t want to spend too much money.

If you want a great, simple, hotel in the middle of town, near the banks, market etc, then this place is pretty perfect. Lovely little courtyard round the back of the hotel - and everyone be very chilled and relaxed. Give me this over some of the new wannabe corporate hotels any day of the week...

Rooms may not feel like the height of luxury but they are clean and functional, showers OK. Bar/cafe area, a small courtyard with trees, is a little oasis within Lilongwe; the food and drink was of good standard and excellent value. Happy to recommend to others.
