“Fabulous atmosphere, great staff and superb food”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

Set in the superbly renovated old train station, this restaurant is a delight. Pricey compared to some restaurants, but it is unique and very popular. Nice atmosphere with a piano playing in the corner. The food's good, but the fresh fruit juices are amazing.... passion fruit and strawberries were in season and on the menu in June - delicious! Many English speaking staff, so translating the menu and ordering are not problematic, even if your French is a bit rusty. Now, I know this is weird, but I had to make a trip to see the toilets, which are situated in an old train carriage.

In June 2013, if you contacted Hertz in advance - they would pick you up from your hotel and take you home - free of charge - bargain. Don't have the number for this sorry, but your hotel might!!!

Well worth a visit!

“Best use of a train station ever!”
Reviewed October 1, 2013 via mobile

The Zebu cheeseburger rocks...no sane person would order anything else. Great toilets....in an old restored carriage...if interesting toilets are your thing. Good service and many of the staff speak English. You certainly won't starve here.

“Remarkable Restaurant Recreating an Earlier Elegant Epoch”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

You can pop-in to enjoy just a coffee, some locally brewed draught beer from the Three Horseshoes Brewery or even take a full meal here away from the hustle and bustle of central Tana. It is in part of the splendidly restored main Tana Rail station complex with its own tranquil garden outside and has a view of the railway running lines and yard too..

On the last night of our stay a group ate here on a couple of tables and had a very enjoyable meal in the relaxed surroundings. Service was friendly, efficient with the cuisine; food and drink [draught 3HB beer] good in true French style.

While seated you can enjoy the ornate surroundings reflecting a past elegant époque with pictures of historic railway scenes adorning the walls, or even watch the Madarail shunting operations in the station yard outside or occasionally even a full fright train go by.

“Relief from the bustle of Tana”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

We really enjoyed our visits and meals experienced at the cafe.
Enjoying our drinks and meals outside, under the umbrellas on the green lawn, was a pleasant relief from the bustle on the streets.
Enjoyed the croque Madame and the quiche Lorraine was popular also.

“The train station restaurant”

Housed at a train station, it is a classy restaurant with a wide selection of food and wines. Enjoyed the foie gras!
