This place has large, plain rooms with clean, comfortable beds and hot showers. The location is very close to the airport and yet very quiet. Basically a great place to stay if you fly in late or need to fly out early.

We had to stay here on our way to and from Nossi Be due to Air Madagascar changing their flights at short notice.
Clean, close to the airport and a lovely pool area for relaxing.
Rooms were modern and clean and everything you would want for an overnighter.

Room Tip: Try get a room away from the pool

stayed 3 nights altogether on a tour of Madagascar with Steppes travel .
First morning had a terrible scramble due to the erratic nature of Air Mads internal flight schedule ,Got into bus , luggage and all for 8 people and to the airport in 15 minutes !!!
I really like this hotel , it ticks all the boxes for a stopover .
In particular the food is really excellent , the best we had all trip . I will always remember the vanilla ice cream which is the best Ive ever had , and the british stuff will never measure up !
Small enough to have personal service unlike airport hotels usually are , and proximity to the airport is a huge bonus .

Room Tip: I liked room 21 , stayed in it twice

Our party of 4 stayed at the Relais on several occasions during our visit to Madagascar. They really looked after us very well. It is in an excellent location only 10 mins from the airport and, with Tana traffic being as it is, this made getting the early flights much better and the late arrival flights easier. Each time we checked in, reception gave us rooms next door and had our laundry and cases that we left ready.
The pool looked great, but due to our schedule, we didn't get a chance to use it. The rooms were always clean and comfortable.
The star of the show is the restuarant. The staff are amazing and the choice is excellent. Just be warned that the portion size is big. 2 of our party usually only had a starter or main course, because they really wanted to leave room for the desserts. You really must have the Chocolate tour. Ice-cream, mousse, thick sauce and brownie. It really is incredable! The manageress of the restuarant is lovely.
This is a really lovely hotel, with great food, perfect location and friendly staff. A great base for a trip to Madagascar.

Had 3 nights at Le Relais des Plateaux - served the purpose for what we needed. Arrived very late the first night and just needed to crash. Stayed in the older 2 storey block opposite the reception on 1 night. Would recommend getting one of the newer single storey rooms (rooms 1-20) which we had on the other occasions - these have nicer furnishings and larger bathrooms and are overall more comfortable. Only had 1 very thin hard pillow each on our first stay - the newer rooms had 2 each - not sure why that should be the case. Food and service was very good on each occasion - varied menu in a spacious clean restaurant. As with Derek S review the approach is a bit concerning however the hotel was fine. Aircrew stay there so that suggests it cant be bad !

Room Tip: Rooms 1-20 are the newer single storey block - would recommend these rooms
