I have stayed there a countless number of times during the last 2 years, I feel home when i am there.

After a long flight, and especially if you arrive at night, this hotel will be the place of choice for your first night. They have free airport transfer and Legit peoples will wait for you at the airport with a Sign that has your name on it. They wear Hotel working cloths for easy identification. Very convenient.

The room differ as they have older section and fairly new section recently built. You might want to ask for one of the most recent/newly renovated room.

You have a mini fridge with drink in the room, you have AC unit with remote, you have satellite TV. the rooms are very clean, i never spotted a bug inside so far.

The restaurant has a large selection of food which most are very good. There is also a bar merged to the restaurant.

They have a nice in ground pool.
The price is high i find but for conveniance after a long flight, if you arrive late at night (11PM) it is very conveniant and headache free. This hotel is a few KM away from the airport.

Room Tip: Request for the newly renovated / most recent room. Make sure you confirm and confirm again . Malaga...

The Relais was the first place we stayed at on our arrival into Tana, and we were very happy with it and its proximity to the airport. Don't be put off when your driver turns off the road onto what looks like a dirt sidestreet with a huge gate at the end (I thought we were being hiijacked)! Well run, clean and with a good restaurant and friendly staff, its a gentle introduction into the world of Madagascar. We enjoyed staying there enough that on our return to Tana to fly up to Diego Suaraz, we were very pleased to arrive back there again for a night. I suggest trying the bungalow rooms - they are newer and set away from the rest of the hotel slightly so quieter.

Room Tip: Request one of the newer, bunglalow rooms - they are as I've said, newer, and set away from the...

The Relais is a well managed hotel with mostly bungalow style rooms that provides what you need to stay comfortable and well fed. It is not a grand hotel, instead, it is set back off the road behind a row of other buildings so that you cannot see it when driving by. On the side of a gentle hill, it has a pool, restaurant and bar in buildings that are surrounded by well kept grass lawns and well made roadways.

Rooms have air conditioning and the hot water works. It is clean and well kept with room safes for those travellers who have all their valuable with them on the way in to Madagascar or on the way out. Wi-fi reception in (some?) rooms is poor but is better in the bar.

Business people seem to like it; the hotel provides a free shuttle to the nearby airport at fixed times. As a tourist hotel, it is rather far from the centre of town. Nevertheless, tour companies favour it as a place to park their guests, and with reason: flights on Mad Air (Air Madagascar) can involve a surprising number of visits to the airport, collecting lost luggage or getting there in time for early (yes early...you did read it right) flights. So, even tourists may wish to reconsider their usual choices and be closer to the airport than they would normally want. There is no aircraft noise.

Some people don't like the dogs barking at night next door. Is it a kennels?

I stayed at this hotel for one night upon my first time in Madagascar. Just had a couple of hours layover as I was flying out again the next morning. After losing my nerve a bit when the driver turned down the small dirt road and went behind the gate to get to the hotel I was pleasantly surprised at the niceness of it. The rooms are pretty big, bed was kind of hard but hey…its Madagascar. I liked the modern touches with the basins on top of the counter in the bathroom but I didn’t like the fact that the shower was open. Like you literally walk from the sink to the shower, maybe its just me but I like to be fully enclosed when I take a shower. But all in all it was a nice hotel, helpful staff, close to the airport and I’ll probably be staying here again as my company seems to book it for everyone.

We stayed at Relais des Plateaux for the first time whilst on our second trip to Madagascar. We used it as a stopover on our way to and from various other destinations in Madagascar. We think it is an absolute gem! Wonderfully clean, comfy beds, airconditioning in the rooms, with everything operating as it should. French telly is a hoot! Try watching Dr. DoLittle in French! We laughed ourselves silly! Nothing old and burnt out. We call it "Malagasy Chic". Decor is simple but depicting some great Malagasy modern style. Windows are tinted for privacy and coolness and room are by and large quiet.

The restaurant was wonderful, food fantastic. Drinks quite pricy and we found to our delight, cocktails are cheaper than wine and much more fun and interesting. Beware! Some of them have a kick worse than 10 mules! There is a big pool with loungers. The front office staff are wonderful, informed and efficient. The shop is simply divine with some really novel bits and pieces and an epic book on Madagascan orchids! The lady who runs it is just the sweetest person we have met. We had long conversations about all our famalies, swopped ideas, shared a trouble or two - a truly sincere and good hearted soul with some interesting stories to share.

Our wake up calls and transfers were very timeous and everything went very smoothly. They take Visa (no Mastercard) with 4% added. All in all, whoever is in charge of this place and got it established, has tried their very best to break the "old mould" and think of every detail possible which will contribute to travellers peace of mind, comfort and enjoyment. There is nothing they won't try to organise for you or help you find something you are looking for in Antananarivo or surrounds. It is a true oasis and so close to the airport. We loved this place and give it a perfect 10!!!

Room Tip: Rooms1 & 2 are nice and big and quieter.

We stayed here at the end of a 3 week tour of Madagascar, before flying home. It is close to the airport, safe and comfortable. The room was large, with ac, TV and big comfortable bed. The bathroom was small and dark but useable. We didnt try the food - we were so tired we slept right through the day!
