One of the best Sushi have had in and out of Liberia. Had Japanese visitors recently and they loved it... Commented that " its better then the Sushi they have had in London & Paris.... I guess that means something coming from the Makers of Sushi.... As for budget, The more you order the more you pay .. so you can control according to your budget... Friendly staff and owners always around asking if all is well.... A MUST TRY....

Probably the top restaurant in Monrovia. It may have competition now that the Royal hotel has re-opened its sushi restaurant. But, it is still the place to go in town for great sushi and cocktails. Fish flown in fresh from Europe and excellent chefs make this place worthy of visiting when you are in Monrovia. Definitely try the vegetable tempura where they include baby okra in the dish. Kudos to the management for maintaining a quality restaurant.

Expensive, sushi isn't as good as living room. Its located downtown near the US embassy and UN buildings, so if you are in the neighborhood and want to try something unadventurous, but if you have time and want something better, there are many better choices in Monrovia

I am a foodie and live in Paris. There I spend most mornings haunting farmers markets, in search of foodie wonders. It's a single-minded passion. In the middle of the night, I woke up thinking about the dinner just eaten at Mamba point sushi bar. The memory made my mouth water. I knew in the morning I would have to carefully plan what to eat at the next meal there. For there would be a next meal exactly there, on a balcony overlooking the beach.

Menus from the sushi bar, combined with the restaurant menu, make for extensive and challenging choices. From sushi, sashimi, tempura, fresh catch of the day, steak, pasta, pizza and hamburgers, a long list of tempting starters, on to soups, salads and a few lovely desserts. Nothing much has been left off the menu.

Monrovia's ocean setting is captivating. At the Mamba point hotel, restaurant guests can sit outdoors on the balcony (there only a few tables directly facing the beach) in a setting fronted by palm trees and surrounded lush bougainvillia. It is calm and casual, surrounded by ocean breeze. All a pleasure for the senses.

Being slightly suspicious of pizza (outside Italy), I caught a glimpse of guests who had ordered it. No longer suspicious, this is next on a growing list of items to be tried. That is, IF it is possible to deviate from sashimi, fresh catch of the day and tempura.

Prices seem standard for the level of establishment. Tempura starts around 7.50 and main dishes range from 12-15USD and up. Fresh lobster is also available. Portions are large. With the tempura came vegetables that make sense in a tropical climate and limited options. It consisted of sauteed cabbage, onions, carrots...not overcooked and worth serving as well as eating.

Service is also on par with other local restaurants. There isn't a rush and sometimes reminders help move the meal along. But what is the hurry?

As another contributor, Radhee D, I can easily imagine having every dinner takeaway!

Congratulations and thanks to this restaurant. Yes, it is that good. And always remember, what you order matters. I first tried the fish smothered in a tomato/onion sauce. WRONG. Stick with simple and fresh.

My work in Liberia becomes a pleasure when I am able to dine at The Mamba Point Barracuda Sushi Bar. I am so fond of the high quality of seafood served at the restaurant that I made the effort of having every dinner takeaway from Barracuda. It has always been simply delightful and even beats sushi restaurants in the Far East. What provides the final touch is the most wonderful husband and wife team who ensure that everyone is well looked after with their needs. The service is always great too. I enjoy the miso soup and maki rolls every evening. The grilled salmon is fantastic too. Nothing beats this fantastic restaurant with it's beautiful interiors. One of my favourite global restaurants ranked as excellent.
