For all the people who are complaining/making negative comments - this is Africa so dont bring your 1st world biases here. It it is a well run hotel with nice rooms and pleasant staff. For those who found them unhelpful perhaps it was YOUR attitude that was at fault. The food is perfectly acceptable and the medium rare fillet steak is to die for! Not things that you usuAlly get in the third world and remember Lesotho is one of the poorest countries in the world. Just think how the local people live so hope this makes all of you who are moaning feel very humble!

Room Tip: Room 7 is great as it has french window to the pool, but I have been in several rooms and all were v...

Rooms: I stayed in the round, hut-like rooms and really enjoyed it. The sunlight was at a good angle so it was cozy and spacious. Bed and bathroom were in good condition and the place was clean and tidy. There is no room service, and if you want to call the front desk (it would appear, though I'm not certain) that you need to call the entire number (not just 1 or 9).

Facilities/Grounds: There is no gym, fyi. The pool seems nice but it's not the season. The grounds are well kept, and sort of garden like with roses and trees and manicured grass. It's a pleasant retreat to sit and relax and hear birds (despite the traffic noise in the distance). If you are a light sleeper, there seems to be a frequent late night party somewhere near the grounds (I cannot figure out the location), so bring ear plugs to block out the distant music. Also the birds (sounds like a dove) are also a bit loud in the am at sunrise.

Cleaning person: The cleaning lady will basically walk in your room, while you are sitting there (I was doing work), and there are not any "do not disturb" signs up, so use the physical metal door lock (not the key), if you want to be left alone.

Front desk/Service: People are friendly and helpful. They will let you keep your bag at the hotel if you need to do an overnight trip somewhere.

Food: The food was ok, but I would recommend staying with what you KNOW you like, and things that are local or close to local foods, because sometimes things you order on the menu are not what you get. For example, the kingpin and trout are fairly safe bets. One night I ordered what was supposed to be an "italian" style dish, for a change, and got really greasy "chinese" veggie stir fry with enough garlic to put you in quarantine.

Room Tip: If you stay in the rotunda rooms, choose one of the newer ones - 35, 26 - since the price is the sam...

I must admit lancers inn is far better than all the hotels we've slept in in Maseru but if you want to enjoy a good night sleep on weekends, forget it. We checked in on a Friday hoping to get a good rest before our early morning trip to Sterkspruit. I could not believe it when the party/rave nearby went on until the next morning depriving us of any sleep at all.

Tired as we were we embarked on our journey and when we came back that evening, it was on again. I remember asking the security guard at the hotel "is this a weekend thing or just a special occasion?" His answer was "mam it's a weekend thing starting on Thursday".

Luckily my two glasses of wine and lack of sleep from the previous night helped because I could sleep through all of it.

We had a very comfortable stay at this hotel and found little to complain of. The staff, without exception were very friendly and keen to provide a good service. It's location was convenient (in the centre of town) not far from a shopping mall with a supermarket and liquor store. Our room was very comfortable and clean - looking onto the pool with its own small balcony so there was a place to sit and chill in the sunshine. The restaurant had a selection of dishes, all of which were good quality. If fed up with the menu there were also other restaurants within easy walking distance. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Room Tip: Choose a room (7,8 or 9) that overlook the pool as there is a nice area to sit out.

We stayed in Maseru for two weeks and choosed Lancers Inn for the whole stay. We stayed in a small house of our own, but without any possibilites for making any food of our own. The place is clean, they have a really good restaurant, and the pool is also ok. What we didn´t like was the staff in the reception that didnt know anything about service and being polite. We didn´t met a person from the reception that was friendly... that was really bad!
Good location - very close to city center!

Lancers' Inn provided our group of four business associates with a very comfortable stay. The rooms were of acceptable quality - clean and comfortable. The food proved to be very good - with good variety and quality, which we tested over a full week. Service was pleasant and warm - with lots of smiles to go around. All four of us reflected positively on our stay and would certainly return.

Room Tip: Rondawels were more spacious but rooms 6-8 provide access onto the pool area which would make for pl...

We were a group of four visiting Maseru for a week of work. Lancer's Inn is very central, suitable if you have many places to visit in this charming little city. Many commercial and government offices are within easy walking distance. The rooms vary in size and in comfort, but in general they are well maintained. The restaurant is good and well visited during lunch and evening.

Room Tip: There are three rooms with private exit to the pool.
