“Crowded but fun”
Reviewed November 8, 2010

We spent almost 2 weeks in the Accra area.
Although the city traffic is crowded, we loved the way people live together.

After having a coke at a small restaurant, we paid and went on.
About a hunderd meters away we were called by the waitress....
5 Ghana Shidie fell on the floor (about 2and half Euro) and she ran to give us back the money we lost.

Afte such a pleasant encounter, we went for a daytrip to Sajuna Beach Club, located on the road to Akosombo, where we rented a kayak and paddled the Volta river. The beach club is very well maintained, the staff is very friendly and the food is excellent.

“Accra, Capital of Ghana”
Reviewed July 26, 2010

We went to Ghana after United Airlines established a direct flight to Accra from Washington, DC. This was not a leisure vacation but an exploration of another country and culture. If we went again we would stay at the hotel on the beach rather than the "downtown" location which really does not have any interesting shops or restaurants. We really liked and really recommend our tour guide Prince Kojo Opare who was working as an independent travel guide. You can see his contact information on LinkedIn at: http://www.linkedin.com/profile?viewProfile=&key=80380937&authToken=0TGE&authType=name. We would not try to do any of the Ghana area without a good tour guide, but it is really worth the trouble. The people are friendly and helpful.

“Best Trip”
Reviewed October 8, 2009

I went with some friends to Accra and i must say this was my best trip all year. The people were very friendly, the food was excellent and the weather was awesome. My trip was from the 8th of Sept till the 20th of Sept. It must have been the best weather ever, not too hot like its been known to get sometimes. I am planning to visit again --hopefully to stay longer this time.

“Never, ever again”
Reviewed September 7, 2009

After reading the reviews we decided on a weekend at the old Dutchotel. Lovely lobby, beach view and there it ends.
Aircon not working, minibar not stocked, no shower curtain.
Room service non-existent.
We found 22 dead mosquitoes in our bed the next morning and numerous new bites on our bodies.
Breakfast was the standard eggs & baked beans.
Compared to Coconut Grove, Busua, Labadi & La Palm, this is a disgrace and they charge the same as some of the 5 star hotels.
