Fiesta Royale Hotel
Ranked #15 of 90 Hotels in Accra

Have been to this hotel around five or six times over the past 2 years and (together with the road on which it sits) it has improved tremendously over that time. Rather a long way from the airport; this is an old style colonial hotel that does not suit everyone's taste but has a very warm Ghanaian welcome. The food is good (and plentiful) although not always as hot as I would like and the rooms are very large. The only issue that perplexes me is the cost of rooms in Ghana. A very average room in a 3 star hotel can set you back $300 per night if you are not careful and the Fiesta Royale is no exception. How the Ghanaians expect both businessmen and tourists to carry on visiting at those rates is beyond me!

Coming back to the ghotel over and over again, I am always pleased to see that the quality of the products and of the service is held high.

Rooms are good - large, clean, conference facilities are dependable - wifi accessible, rooms large and confortable, and the service by the staff - hotel staff and business centre staff - is friendly and efficient.

A few points for improvement:
- The food is quite bland and all the dishes have very similar tastes (and the kitchen still doesn't know how to hard-boil or soft boil an egg - really they don't :-) ).
- The a/c in one of the conference rooms cannot be regulated from inside the room.
- The staff at reception can sometimes seem quite arrogant and unhelpful.

All in all this is a good hotel and conference centre, and although quite expensive, I will keep on recommending it.

This is a well established hotel not too far from the airport (although with traffic a transfer can take an hour), but a bit out of town. The facilities are fine, if nothing fancy, large clean rooms, quiet air conditioning, decent size pool. At a rate of $178 per night it is not cheap, but all prices for Ghana hotels have risen steeply since 2012. Reasonable service. Main draw back is poor and variable internet access.

Room Tip: One wing of the hotel is along the main road, rooms face away from the road and are fine, but it mig...

I have stayed in Ghana many times before, but this hotel is really a mixed bag, my visit was for 6 nights, almost £1,200!

I turned up on Wednesday morning after a particularly bumpy flight from the UK, only to find that my reservation was double booked at 6.30am.

OK, these things happen, however, the true test of the hotel is how they resolve such an issue, I was kept totally in the dark and had to the phone the UK booking agency to speak to the reception to resolve - it took them three hours to find me a room, not an issue, but they never kept me informed and I had to constantly pester them for an update. The attititude was some of the worst I've experienced in all the hotels I've frequented around the globe.

Notwithstanding the above, the restaurant and bar staff are exceptional, friendly, approachable and more than happy to help, in fact my recommedation is that they should be placed on reception.

The hotel is not cheap and the rooms are nothing special and are particulary basic when comapred to other countries, in fact whilst the rooms are spacious they vividly remind of a visit to an East German hotel pre Russian exodus!

So, the real question is, would I stay here again? Yes. but only because the hospitality from all, apart from the reception made the stay here a reason to return.

Also be warned the bar shuts at 11.00pm no exceptions! If you can't stay at the African Regent, stay here, but have deep pockets and low expectations.

i stayed in this hotel for 2 nights at the end of january, i find it a good hotel overall, i travel a lot over africa this was one of the good hotels i stayed in, room was very good, i couldn't find a reason to separate toilet from shower in two rooms! food was good, service was fine, rates is very high but i found that in most Accra's hotels! location was in the town not a remote area, not very far form airport, no views except for the inner garden which is fine, i didn't have time to explore whether there was a pool or not but i believe they told me there was a gym!
anyway the hotel is good for business trip and i don't recommend it for a family.

The hotel is very good and in good location - close to airport and other services, try it for comfort and luxury and if you love places with vegetation this is a good place in Accra.

Considering that properties are expensive in Ghana the costs are reasonable.

The meals were good and they have a wide variety to suite people from different countries.

Very spacious rooms, good food. The staff are sometimes sluggish but generally respond in due time. Was there for 2 days. Our room wasn't cleaned on time and the housekeeping staff quickly changed it upon requested. The door card malfunctioned a few times but we did enjoy our stay.
