ICK. What an incredible waste of money. DO NOT STAY HERE. I'm SO glad we only stayed one night. This place was such a scam. Don't fall for the few beautiful pictures of the lobby. They do a great job maintaining the entryway and pool appearance to sell you on the idea, and haven't done a THING to the rooms in ages. In the room, the carpet was shredding and stained (eiww), it smelled, there was evidence that it had been broken into before, and the cleaning service was a joke. I don't usually expect much from a room, but this was supposed to be the "treat" for one night... I figured it cost about 3 times what other rooms cost, and the pictures really sold me... NOPE.

AND we had issues with checking in and out. Check-in isn't until 4pm. We arrived around 7am to Accra and had to kill time until the afternoon (because we called ahead, but the hotel REFUSED to give us early check-in -not even 2pm). We ended up getting to the hotel around 4:30, and then had to wait ANOTHER half an hour for a room. plus, they charged us a preemptive extra $100 just in case we damaged the room. it was stressful trying to confirm that they weren't charging us for this the next morning. good GRIEF. AWFUL.

food at the restaurant is just as overpriced and unimpressive as the rest of it. the only plus was the included buffet breakfast with fresh fruit and coffee...

On our way out of Accra, we stayed at a much less snazzy place, but it was so much cleaner, safer, and didn't smell like garbage. and i didn't feel like we were being completely ripped off.

This hotel was undergoing refurbishment when we stayed - I think it's been taken over by South Africa's Legacy group which seem to be improving the style and making it more upmarket. The lobby and restaurant areas were nice and the pool too. Breakfast was excellent and would compare well with European equivalents. Dinner was ok but not worthy of the price - but then you're paying not to be stuck in traffic or the chaos outside.
Our room hadn't been refurbished so was in the old style and in need of updating. It was out of keeping with the public areas. (I assume they will be doing the rest of the rooms in the refurb). We also stayed at Oak Plaza East which was better for the airport, much cheaper and the rooms were also much more modern. It's also close to Accra Mall which is a decent place to spend a few hours.

I attended a business conference but didn't say at the Labadi Beach hotel. From what I could tell it is a a very nice place. The pool and surrounding bar area are very inviting and the staff are quite nice. I would put this hotel well above the Alisa and about on par with the Golden Tulip -- two hotels where I have stayed. The meals I ate there were excellent. Wireless internet seemed to work fine and had decent (for Ghana) speed.

My family and I made our first trip to Africa and spent 5 days at Labadi Beach Hotel.
The lobby is impressive and newly renovated. The grounds and pool are meticulously kept. Those at the desk were most accomodating and we became friendly with various members of the staff who greeted us and sought to assist us daily.
The food was very good, pleantiful and there was a variety.
The rooms are very clean but obviously not newly renovated( but not shabby).
About 35minute ride from the airport and on a main congested thoroughfare. Nevertheless the hotel is quiet. Notably one of only about 3 or four Accra hotels
that would rate as not a disappointing place to stay if you're used to four star
hotels. I would definately go again.

I did not expect western 5 star standards ... and was not surprised the rooms were musty smelling and dated in decor ... but with some peeling wallpaper, and mildew in the bathroom with leaking pipes, think of the rooms as more like 3 star than 5. I have a feeling we were not given the better rooms and we did have a good discount/ corporate rate (compared the very expensive usual rates).

The hotel facilities (with a nice pool and well kept gardens), comfortable beds, friendly and competent service and the decent (if not cheap) food, with no tummy upsets, are the things that will bring me back - hopefully to a better room. This is a hotel a women arriving alone on business can feel comfortable, safe and well taken care of.

Labadi Beach Hotel, is a beautiful, the lobby is breath taking with wooden beams above. The hotel staffs are very warm and friendly. We spent Christmas there with 3 other famiies and it was very nice. My kids are looking forward to going back there.

I just returned from a four night stay at this hotel and it DID NOT live up to its 4 star rating.
PROS: The breakfast was good, the beds were quite comfortable and the rooms were clean
CONS: Bad service almost everywhere. The most unfriendly hotel staff I’ve ever experienced! . You had to beg to get served! The ladies at the reception were ok but could be better. The rooms were rather small. Apart from the breakfast every other meal was below par. After the first trial we ate out most of the time. I had the worst cheesecake ever at this hotel! The Avis desk male attendant seems to have no clue about his job. In all i didn't get value for money. I stayed in a much better 5 star hotel in Budapest early this year for the same price.
