Stayed in Room Marakesh. Quite comfortable and roomy. Restaurant was great. ( could use more selections)
Staff was professional. Felt safe. Clean.

That's how I'd describe it. The hotel is in a tranquil part of the city. From the art to the furniture, the lobby/dining/pool areas are beautiful and relaxing. The rooms each have a different theme - we stayed in the Moroccan room with an actual hookah couch and Moroccan lanterns -- super cool. Some might think this is cheesy -- it's not. The hotel is high-design, like a Peninsula, but uniquely done. The service was amazing. Everyone was soft-spoken, sweet, accommodating and welcoming. We actually had a few hours until we had to go to the airport, and they offered us a suite to "freshen up" after we used the pool and had dinner. When these days does this ever happen! So refreshing. Being from New York and now Paris, and having stayed in some of the best hotels around the world, my family and I have high standards. I was surprised and proud to see a 5-star boutique hotel like this in Accra.

This is a small, beautiful boutique hotel. The rooms are very comfortable - a great bed, roomy, lots of light filters in through big windows and a fantastic walk-in shower. The hotel is decorated in a Tuscan theme that is very tastefully done. I believe each room is uniquely decorated (I stayed in Aqua Verde).

Among the things I liked about the hotel:

- genuinely friendly, courteous, professional, welcoming and efficient staff;
- the hotel is obviously very well-managed;
- nice pool;
- small but well-equipped gym with very high-end equipment;
- great food at the restaurant; and
- excellent wi-fi throughout the property (with good support for printing or whatever you need).

The hotel is not so far from the airport and located in a quiet residential area, but it's easy enough to get to wherever you need to go by getting a taxi. There's not a lot in the immediate neighborhood in terms of food or stores (although Accra Mall is only about two miles away), but the area doesn't have much traffic so is nice for morning and evening walks.

All in all, I highly recommend Villa Monticello as an excellent and memorable place to stay.

I travelled to Ghana recently for the first time and stayed at the Villa Monticello boutique hotel. As a first time visitor I really cant compare Villa to any other hotels in Accra - but I can however compare it to some of the other boutique hotels I have been to in other parts of the world... and I would say Villa ranks up there with the best of them. Rooms are impeccable, Location was ideal ( 5 minuted drive from the airport)....service was excellent. When I had to leave after 4 days - it felt like I was leaving my own personal hideaway. Recommend this hotel? without a doubt. In my opinion - there is no other option..I will most certainly be back.

have been a regular guest of Villa Monticello for the past few months - spending anywhere upwards of 5 days per month at this boutique hotel that has become somewhat of a "home away from home". During this period, I have seen this private oasis go from strength to strength. The infrastructure was always top class - rooms elegant and tastefully decorated, and the amenities top class. Service, as with any start up, had gaps in the beginning....but now, operates almost seamlessly. This hotel is not for everyone - so if beautiful surroundings, attentive professional staff, classy and luxurious decor is not your thing - then I would advise to go somewhere else. I however - will most definitely return - I think Villa has spoiled me too much to go elsewhere.
