After a long search we finally found this great hotel. The facilities are very comfortable and clean. The restaurant by the pool is a great place to relax after a long day of hustle and bustle in the city of Accra. The staff was very helpful with arranging transportation etc.

I had an opportunity to stay in this hotel for only 3 days due to lack of rooms on account of our impromptu reservations. This hotel is very conveniently located, and gives you a feeling that you are in a developing continent, both on the plus and minus sides. The main building is of 19 century architecture - seems to be more like an old British building converted into a hotel and gives you a feeling that you are in another country. Also, a lot of African items like furniture, masks, symbols are around, giving a different experience. The pool is large and the forex counter offers a decent exchange rate. The restaurant is decent, though options for vegetarians are very limited. There is ample space to walk around the hotel given that one would not like to do so at night outside the hotel.
On the minuses, the room rate is very steep for the value offered, even if you compare this to Europe in general. If you keep the windows open, you may get mosquitoes in the rooms, and bathrooms are clearly not upto the mark in terms of the type of showers, an odd water connection clumsily closed etc. One should perform bathroom chores quickly and not think of having long showers etc.. Also, at times, there are 'extra riendly' women in the hotel premises at night.

Everything in Ghana, Africa for that matter is 'relative', that is- to comparable options. That in mind.. Coconut Grove Regency was 'fine'. The facility was generally clean and in good condition. The room could have been a smidge cleaner (carpet, bathroom) but again- 'TIA'. All in all, for proximity to center of things Accra, for 140- a night, it worked fine. Restaurant not bad, although will recommend get to b'fast EARLY or you'll miss a good part of it, they don't seem to re-stock breads etc..
