“Stay away from this beach ”

Reviewed October 10, 2017 via mobile

What can I say this has to be the worse beach I’ve ever been to first of all you have to pay to enter this filthy place then once inside you are harassed by people selling all sorts of things and this is even before you are seated, once seated we had more than 30 people waving things in our faces from a guy with a snake who says you can hold the snake for a fee to people selling fake tattoos. The water is filled with plastic waste so you can’t swim overall it was an awful day avoid this place if possible.

Bustling with activities, peddlers with art works and memorabilia and the aroma of fresh fish being grilled on coal fire welcome the visitor to the beach. Never a dull moment as young acrobats put on displays for the odd tip. Beach volleyball is on offer most days. A great place to visit if you want fun under the sun.

It is not worth going if you have the chance to go somewhere else - very much depending on what you're looking for. It is the opposite of a stunning beach with an amazing view. You won't relax, read a book or sleep. But from noon you got loud music, space occupied by hotels (Labadi Beach Hotel takes 80 Cedi for you to use "their" part of the beach), a lot of dirt (plastic bags, tyres, ...) and no trees or mangroves. The beach is crowded with hawkers who want to engage you in a conversation.

The city could probably increase revenue if they cleaned up this beach. It's filthy. The condition is unfortunate. The constant badgering from the sellers was overwhelming as well. It has the potential to be a decent beach if changes are made.

The Labadi beach is not a place to go to if you wanted peace and quiet. Besides, it is one of the dirtiest beaches in the city. Yes I do agree that some attractions and activities have been provided however that does not compensate for the filth. Definitely not my cup of tea!
