“Dirty, noisy and crowded”

Reviewed September 27, 2017

It is not worth going if you have the chance to go somewhere else - very much depending on what you're looking for. It is the opposite of a stunning beach with an amazing view. You won't relax, read a book or sleep. But from noon you got loud music, space occupied by hotels (Labadi Beach Hotel takes 80 Cedi for you to use "their" part of the beach), a lot of dirt (plastic bags, tyres, ...) and no trees or mangroves. The beach is crowded with hawkers who want to engage you in a conversation.

The city could probably increase revenue if they cleaned up this beach. It's filthy. The condition is unfortunate. The constant badgering from the sellers was overwhelming as well. It has the potential to be a decent beach if changes are made.

The Labadi beach is not a place to go to if you wanted peace and quiet. Besides, it is one of the dirtiest beaches in the city. Yes I do agree that some attractions and activities have been provided however that does not compensate for the filth. Definitely not my cup of tea!

We visited in late afternoon and were immediately pestered continually by the bar owners, people selling souvenirs, horse rides and scruffy looking singers. Not a place to go to relax and not particularly clean either. I would recommend paying more for one of the more upmarket resort beaches.

Labadi beach is a hot spot for family and friends wanting to enjoy the sun, food, music and entertainment arts and crafts of Accra ghana. You can chill or have a drink or even Shisha with friends with music life and activity all around you morning until night. They have many different themed nights such as Reggae night or you can go there in the day to simply relax and watch the waves roll over.
