Sunlodge Hotel
Ranked #96 of 260 Accra B&B and Inns
Reviewed September 27, 2013

Large rooms, good bathrooms and a general well maintained set up. Nothing very out of the ordinary but pretty comfortable. However, not good for Indian vegetarians as the hotel does not have a concept of vegetarianism. Please be careful even when you order veg stuff.

The hotel does not have its own taxi service but the staff is ever ready to get a cab for you. Better walk down 100 m to the street and flag taxis. Those will be half the price.

Thank you very much Vineet for staying with us and your feedback as this helps us to improve our services.
With regards to vegetarianism, we have improved our menu to include vegetarian dishes.
We don't run taxi services however, we are able to provide you a car rental service upon request. Meanwhile our Airport Shuttle service is complimentary provided arrival/departure information is made available to us in good time.
Thank you once again and we are looking forward to hosting you soon.

I stayed at this hotel for a week. The check-in process was painless enough. My room was neat and clean and very spacious. A major drawback for me is the location of the hotel, which is very far from the Accra conference centre and requires a taxi ride through the heart of the city which is grid-locked all the time. The breakfast selection was rather bland, but edible. Room service was very slow, but the staff were always very friendly and courteous. A major negative for me was the very slow and sometimes non-existent Internet access. This needs to be urgently sorted out as it is essential for a business traveller to have Internet during their stay. Overall, for what you receive, the hotel is a bit on the expensive side, but this is not really unusual for this part of the world!

We had a birthday Party there with Friends! the swimming Pool is Cool, quite big enough and it was ok!!! As expected we were not allowed to bring our own food around the pool. So we had to keep it in the car and go eat there. But It is a nice place to be for a short time pool Party!!!

The Sunlodge is a straightforward no-frills business hotel. Our family suite was spacious, reasonably clean and had a nice balcony over the pool. Beds were firm but fine. Shower didn't work properly and decor was somewhat spartan. The staff are friendly and helpful, if rather laid-back. The pool was clean, and was a real boon after a hot day in town. Sadly you have to twist arms, extract fingernails etc in order to get any service (drinks, towels, etc) poolside. In the restaurant things are better. Breakfast was good, but dinner is somewhat limited in range and slow to arrive (though no more on either count than most Ghanaian places we have eaten at). Note that the hotel is in Tesano, just off a dual carriageway - convenient if (like us) your business is outside central Accra, but not good if you need to fight the interminable queues into the city centre.

This is one of those little African hotels that tries so hard but never quite makes it. There are three room blocks, the older the block the worse the state of the rooms. They're OK and actually the bathrooms weren't bad at all, considering, but nothing more than that and the bed was very hard! Other 'amenities' (pool, restaurant) are again, OK, but not really special. The staff were OK but not really geared up to go that extra mile and make you feel welcome.

The restaurant food is very limited especially if you're there over the weekend. There had been building works and nothing was properly finished off. The conference rooms were awful, and I mean awful. Very poor WiFi. No or very limited satellite TV.

If this had been anywhere other than Africa I'd have rated it 'very poor' but by African standards it's OK, just.

we stayed at the hotel for nine days, it"s alovely place in a quiet environment. Some of their staffs are friendly especially Enoch, who has a very good human relationship. There"s free internet service, swimming pool and the rooms are nice and clean. Their breakfast though is a bit on the boring side,
