I stayed in a private room here for two weeks when I first arrived in Accra. The room was tight but comfortable to be in, the building clean and well maintained, the staff polite and helpful. In other words, just a nice international-standard hostel, no unwanted surprises, which when your nerves have been shot by travelling in a region like West Africa is a very valuable thing indeed. The showers could be better behaved, and the breakfast is assembled in a charmingly naive fashion, a crepe on top of an omelette on top of a slice of watermelon, that sort of thing.
It's also worth knowing that the suburb it's in, Asylum Down, is lovely and quiet, but badly lacks any kind of tourist amenity, unlike Osu about half an hour's walk to the east which is filled with cafés and restaurants. However if you're ready to embrace the local lifestyle, just to the west is Adabraka, a snug little grid of streets filled with timber shacks and local chop houses (and one or two culinary gems like Khana Khazana).More
