“Great place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2013

We had a great walk around the forest feeding the monkey's nuts. They come up and take them straight out of your hand like a small child. They didn't get aggressive and feeding the baby monkey's was brilliant.

“Lovely forest”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 15, 2013

There's way too much feeding of the monkeys going on so the monkeys are insane, but the forest is really nice and you can go a bit further to escape the madness if you want to,

“Supporting the locals”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2013

We took the children and it was good fun. A guide will take you around and take photos for a tiny tip 200 dalasi. Four trails to follow no hassel but wise to have a guide although some people ventured on their own.

“well worth a visit or two”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2013

Known locally as the Monkey Park it can be accessed from the beach at the bijilo end and you can explore the well marked trails on your own however it is well worth the small entry charge at the official entrance at the kololi end as there you can employ a local guide for a small extra charge. There is an abundance of green vervet monkeys everywhere on the paths and in the trees you are not supposed to feed these but it does not seem to be enforced I dont know if that is because of the very small rabies risk (they are innoculated from time to time) or whether they become a nuisance when tame. The more elusive red columbus monkeys are a lot more impressive but it is unlikely you will see these on your first visit without a guide we had a guide first time and then went a couple more times on our own and once we knew where to look for them we found them every time. If you do enter for free from the Bijilo end it can be difficult to find your way in as there are no signs once in though the paths are all more or less circular so you shouldnt get lost
