This was my fourth stay at the Ghion. I have no choice because Addis Ababa University, my host, is required to use it. Expect to have a few cold showers and maybe no water on occasions. The breakfast buffet is not exciting. The staff are friendly, but clearly the hotel needs a new management team and infusion of funds for updating as it is slowly deteriorating.
The Unity cafe in the grounds is a good spot to enjoy a beer at the end of the day.
The Chinese restaurant on the left of the entrance as you exit is worth a visit. We enjoyed the special meal listed on the front of the menu.
