“Quality Hotel in Addis”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2013

As I travel more through Africa I am becoming more and more reliant on the Radisson Group of hotels for their consistency in offering a high standard in accommodation, service and food.Once again, the Radisson Blu in Addis Ababa lived up to and eceeded my expectations.

There are other hotel chains available in Addis, but the Radisson far exceeds anything that I saw over the week that I was there. The charm of the staff is fantastic and the food was excellent. I did have issues with the in-room dining, so I would suggest going down to the bar or the restaurant if you want to have something quick and easy

Room Tip: There is on going construction on the plot next door, so if you have a choice, try and avoid getting...

Great gym and spa with reasonable pricing for all services (massage, nails, waxing, hair, etc). Tomoca coffee shop and cafe. Reliable shuttle. Friendly and helpful concierge staff. Nice outside patio for meals, lounging. Excellent restaurant. Only thing missing is a pool and sauna/whirlpool. Overall great hotel for the business traveler.

My family joined my on a business trip to Addis. The service was good from the desk clerk to the bell staff to the concierge to the restaurant servers. The hotel is relatively new, so everything has a clean and new feel. The beds are VERY soft -- just sink right into them. The lounge provides good food at a good price. The restaurant has a fantastic breakfast buffett. They also have a huge dinner buffet. The hotel is walking distance to the Hilton and InterContinental. No swimming pool, but you can pay to use the InterContinental or Hilton pool.

Room Tip: If you ask for a room on the street side...just know that you'll be listening to traffic noise a...

Having stayed here twice in March and also multiple times at the Sheraton Addis, I would rate this second to the Sheraton, and only because the Sheraton has a true wow factor. It is a good hotel for business or for a quick layover. Staff are friendly and polite. Rooms are comfortable with good amenities. Value is not bad as internet is free and breakfast is included. I would have no problem staying here again and recommend it.

Room Tip: The only difference between the business class room and the standard room is you get a bath robe, hand cream in the bathroom, and access to a business lounge. No need to pay the extra for this.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the back of the hotel are slightly quieter as the rooms facing the front can get some s...

The hotel sits just behind the United Nations' Offices. A waling distance from the United Nations Conference Center. Breakfast is great and the Manager is awesome. What I loved the most was the complimentary Internet connection. It was one of the fastest I have seen in Africa, so far. I followed the Kenya elections on an online TV from the hotel.

Room Tip: Addis Ababa sits at an amazing 2400 feet in Altitude. If you are from the coastal areas of the world...

I stayed at the Radisson Blu for a two week business trip and really enjoyed my stay. The staff is very courteous and tries hard to be helpful. The room is spacious and clean, bed is comfortable, and the free wifi works well. The bathroom is a bit dark and the shower enclosure can be better sealed to avoid water seeping out to the floor. The gym is small but functional, and is never overly full like at the Hilton. The hotel is right on a main road with lots of traffic but you don't hear any noise inside the hotel. Parking is limited though so not as convenient to hold meetings there.

I stayed at the Hilton on a previous trip. While the Hilton has bigger grounds and more restaurants and shops, it is very old-fashioned and not as stylish as the Radisson. The breakfast buffet at the Radisson is also better than the Hilton and the food at the restaurant is generally fine. There is no shortage of dining options in Addis, and at very affordable prices, so I limited my meals at the hotel.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel.
